Today, my supervisor forced me to bring the image of a failed simulation to the group meeting, because he thought it looked funny. So did the others and it's now going on our webpage. I have to provide a scientific description of how I made a mistake in my code. FML

That is shitty that your supervisor did that to you, making such a joke out of it and decided to blow it up to such a stupid, jackass thing to do to someone. But everyone makes mistakes. You shouldn't take it too hard. Just make corrections and learn from the mistake you made. It's really ******* hard to do but you just have to hold your head up and in a few days time, they'll be talking about someone else's screw up.

At least you're being recognized. Hang in OP.

Dude it's code, that stuff isn't easy to identify or fix the error

Second. Let's keep a number train going.

was it the front page?! i heard thats for winners.

Damn. I'd hate to be you. Well, at least people will now know your name?...

Personally, I'd lighten up. It's a little bit mean if OP is the sensitive type, but mistakes happen. That's just part of the scientific field and life in general. I'm sure OP's supervisor didn't mean it in a hostile or mocking way.

And that is hard to tell. I would think since it's on FML, there might be some kind of hostility or something towards OP. But it all really depends on how it is ment and a bunch of other things. Personally, I've been made fun of most of my life and I've learned to roll with the jokes as well as let people joke, until it gets too personal for me.

Exactly, everyone makes mistakes. The way I interpreted it, they aren't making a joke out of OP by thinking that the failed simulation looked funny. The fact that everyone makes mistakes is exactly why we can laugh at each other's little screw-ups. This honestly just seems like something that we should lighten up on.

I kind of want to know what it looks like...

Seems rude to me. Your boss anyways. On the bright side, You now have a chance to learn from this and fix your mistakes. (: Dont be to down OP.
