Today, I was riding my bike to the local grocery store to pick up some supplies for dinner. On the way down, traveling down a hill, I hit a drain with no lid. I went to grab hold of the nearest object to soften my fall. That nearest object was a barbed wire fence. FML

Um? How was there a fence near an open drain? I mean, how were you riding that fast TOWARDS A FENCE? It must have been like parallel and REALLY close to the road or something.

I had to think about it too, but then I remembered we have a drain in our yard... two, actually (one open, one not). So... I suppose OP was actually riding by a fence when he hit the drain...? Still sort of an awkward picture, but I suppose that's the character limit's fault. I've had a nasty meeting with a wood fence laced with barbed wire while I was on a three-wheeler, myself. Not pretty stuff. FYL OP.

Ow.. that must have really hurt. I've seen a similar story about this one person hiking up a mountain and he/she tripped and the nearest thing was an electric or barbed wire fence (I forgot which.) TENTH!
