Oh, the irony

By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2009 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, I called the police regarding people speeding down my street, because I was worried for my young kids. On the way home from my daughter's ballet class, I got pulled over two blocks away from my house and got a $150 speeding ticket. FML

Whoops. At least you've learnt a lesson. But thats what you get for being a hypocrite

How stupid could you be? You called in the complaint, obviously they were going to set up a speedtrap. ******* idiot.

I agree. If you want kids to be safe from people speeding, you have to do your part too! I bet the other people on your street think the same way you did, "oh, but I'm not speeding much, and I'm in a hurry, and the kids are in my car, and I'm a good driver..." Either teach your kids to stay out of the street and deal with it, or call the cops and do what you want others to do. You have to speed a decent amount to get that large of a ticket, too!

i'm guessing by the fact you managed to be speeding by two houses away, you live on a country/city road rather than neighborhood...that comes with living in such a place

@wolfman, with all due respect, your statement is faulty. Had she been leaving the home, that would be making sense. But since she's coming back home, I don't see how your reasoning works. I mean she could be literally an inch away from her home, and get caught in the speed trap since she has had enough time to accelerate to a high enough speed.

Humorizer - I hope you realize that kids don't always listen to their parents in reality and that some kids don't have paved driveways to available for games that need a hard, even flat surface (like basketball). OP- Well, if you want others to follow a certain law, then you should too.

You're absolutely correct. But in that situation, I'd just make my kids play in the back yard. And if I don't have a backyard, I'll let them borrow my video games, or at least make sure I'm staring at my kids to at least avoid a person from stealing them.

Then maybe their parents should take them to the park. If the children weren't raised well enough to listen A) you ****** up B) maybe somebody should be watching them.

They can legally be in the road if they're on bicycles, so long as they obey all the laws of the road.

apologies, i did in fact read this wrong. nonetheless, she should be slowing down if she is two houses away...so my point in the matter is speeding two houses away is a little ridiculous

Wow, that's rather harsh. Did the kids do anything wrong here? How about a speeder hitting the mother's parked car or something?

You are definetly right! The speeder should hit the mother's parked car which would then hit the kids! Double punishment, you are a sick brilliant genius!!! JK

the speeder should actually hit the mother, then hit her car, and crush the kids in-between the mothers car and another parked car. then have the antagonizing screams of the children as their lungs get filled with blood as they die curse the speeders ears forever.

not even karma they were concerned for their childrens safety but what a hypocrite for doing it herself.

At least you know they listened to you!

I moderated this one!!!! If you complain to the cops about speeding than at least don't fall into the trap you asked them to set up.

who cares if you moderated it? congrats you're one of millions of people that do this kind of crap on the internet everyday, be proud!!!!
