Flight from hell

Today, while flying home, two little girls started chanting, "We're all going to die." I'm an extremely anxious flyer. FML

It works wonders on a plane to have sound cancelling headphones, plug them into your phone and just listen to your favourite songs. It will help to keep you calm :)

You should tell the girls that they are more likely to die in a car accident than die while flying. Or maybe they're just trying to be funny.

This is a true fact. You ARE indeed more likely to die driving home from the airport than when flying to it. In fact, chances of dying in a plane crash are about the chances of you winning the lottery. I don't know why #2 has gotten dislikes. Perhaps they don't know their facts.

The parents were right next to them! They were real winners themselves. The mother shoved aside my husband's luggage so she could put her hat in the overhead compartment. Thank goodness they only chanted for half an hour out of the nine hour flight.

Actually telling people 'don't say bomb' doesn't stop bombs on planes. They just make you get a false sense of security.

The brain can do some pretty amazing things while anxious. It's probably no big deal, OP, but did you notice if the other passengers could actually see the little girls too? Do you still see them?

Well the girls are right, but it really a matter of when... and highly unlikely to happen on a commercial airliner. That said, their behavior is unacceptable aboard a flight.
