Today, my best friend, who just got his drivers license, convinced me to take my dads brand new car out for a joyride while he wasn't home. He has a company car that he takes to work, so the car was here. He ended up rear ending someone. My dad. FML

You may like to reconsider your definition of "friend". To steal your own dad's car is a betrayal but to convince your "friend" to steal their dad's car is cowardly too.

And you would listen to this "friend" why?

First off, you deserved it. The only "pro" to this "plan" was that would have been fun, until you has an accident, like almost every 'joyride' ends in. Second, you will be lucky- and should be really grateful if- your Dad doesn't file charges against both you and your friend Third, where in "Dude, let's steal your dad's new expensive car and drive around in the city despite the fact that we have minimal experience in driver" was the good idea? Fourth, while you are under whatever punishment you get- which I hope is severe and going to last a long time- you should think about whether you REALLY want to be friends with someone who prods you into committing crimes that could very well end with you killing bystanders and possibly yourself. Cars are not toys. They are almost a ton of metal going at high speeds. The energy in a moving car is outrageous- even five MPH over the speed limit can mark the difference between someone "just" breaking a leg or that person being thrown twenty feet across the road, and their organs possibly being pulped. So, no, not "FYL"- **** the lives of everyone around you, if you make this level of horrible decisions on the regular.
