Today, after driving a few hours late at night I decided to entertain the car tailgating me by not letting him pass. After doing this for 3miles, reaching 93MPH, I decided to let the car pass me. When I switched lanes, the car tailgating me light up in red and blue. It was a cop. FML

Today, I was tailgated by a car with his high beams on for an hour. Any time I changed my speed or lane, he would do the same. I finally managed to get away from him because a cop pulled me over and gave me a speeding ticket. FML

Today, I was tailgated on the highway. There was a car in the lane next to me, and my tailgater was WAY too close to risk slowing down, so I sped up in order to switch lanes, which bumped me over the speed limit. That's when my tailgater turned on the flashing lights. FML

Today, I pulled up to the stoplight near my house. It was dark with no traffic and the car behind me kept edging closer and closer to me. I finally got fed up with waiting and the car and ran it. In fact, it was a cop and he was trying to read my license plate because the back light was out. FML

Today, a cop almost rear-ended my car, slammed on the gas with no warning, swerved around me, flipped me the bird, then cut me off and then drove a full ten miles under the speed limit. When I changed lanes to overtake him, he pulled me over for road rage. FML

Today, the car in front of me was going slow and I flashed my lights and honked. I floored it and passed the car, flipping off the driver. Just as I went around the next corner I got pulled over by a motorcycle cop. A few seconds later, the guy I flipped off drove by honked and waved. FML

Today, while driving I saw a police car riding along next to me. Thinking about the news recently, I decided to give him a quick thumbs up and a smile to lighten up his day. He looks back, smiles, flips on his siren, and pulls me over for not paying attention to the road. FML

Today, while driving home, some idiot kept tailgating me, so I slowed down, hoping he'd overtake me. He didn't, so I pulled to the side of the road. He did the same, in front of me. He kept toying with me until I crashed into another car trying to speed away from him. FML

Today, I got pulled over for speeding and got a $200 ticket. After I pulled away, I decided to warn the next car about the cop up ahead by flashing my headlights. The next car was another cop. He didn't appreciate my "help". FML

Today, I was driving home from work and noticed the car behind me was tailgating me pretty badly. I was starting to get angry with the driver, and kept glancing in my rear view mirror at him. While I was doing so, the traffic ahead of me stopped, and I rear-ended the car in front of me. FML

I slow down for tailgaters. Wouldn't change if it were a cop. It's one of those moments where you just pray a deer would jump in front of you so that you could slam on your breaks and the moron would crash right into you for following too close.

Cops like to tailgate. I almost brake-checked a cop tailgating me at 80 mph- he was so close I couldn't see his headlights. He passed me before I did anything stupid and only then did I notice it was a state trooper.

I ******* hate tailgaters. I'll be going 105 in a 100 zone when I'm not in a rush or anything and it's like 10pm, and I'll have this douchebag up my ass, refusing to pass me. Like wtf is this? THERE'S A LEFT LANE FOR A REASON. I don't need to risk a speeding ticket because you're too lazy to turn the steering wheel 1cm and perhaps signal. At the same time, I also hate slow left-lane drivers. When I'm late (which is often) I kinda need to go 140, so if you're going 110, BE IN THE RIGHT LANE. I'd do it for you! (see prev. paragraph)

This same thing happened to me. I'm almost 17 now but later last year i was going 70 in a 55 (rushing home to beat the curfew) and a CHP came flying up behind me and started tailgating me. it was dark and foggy and of course i had no idea it was a CHP so i sped up so the guy wouldnt hit me. That ended up with me having a ticket for 95 in a 55 still under my provisional license... FML right? Cops/CHP's should not exploit us.

Not to mention you knew you had a curfew, plan ahead for it. If you can't, be prepared to take a cab, the bus or ask a friend/parent for a ride to avoid potential problems. Also, pulling over and letting people pass is a viable option, especially going at such a low speed.
