Not so sly...

Today, on an 11-hour flight, I had to throw up. I managed to calmly walk to the bathroom and be violently sick in the toilet. After cleaning up, I was proud nobody had noticed and left the stall. A hot flight attendant was already waiting for me with a glass of water. FML

rubberduck_of_doom tells us more.

OP here! OMG I saw this FML and that it was from Austria and then I thought hey I'm from Austria too. Then I read the FML and thought HEY THAT'S MINE!! AND IT WAS =D.. I'M so happy =D... Just a couple of things to clarify (since 200 characters aren't nearly enough XD ): This actually happened a couple of month ago. I was on a flight home from Lima. There was this super hot flight attendant on the plane and I was ogling him everytime he passed. During the first 2 hours of the flight I felt perfectly fine and had no troubles. Then the food came and it was delicious but a couple of minutes after they cleaned up the trays I started feeling extremely nauseous. Now I travel a lot and have been on plenty of flights so far and this never happened to me before. Anyways, once I realized that I was not going to be able to hold it back I calmly got up and walked to the bathroom since I didn't want to make a fuss. Once I got there I was violently sick into the toilet. I had stomach cramps like you wouldn't believe. It hurt so much and I had no idea what was going on... After I was done I cleaned everything up as best I could and washed up as to not arouse any suspicion. I didn't look too bad (I thought) and left the bathroom, proud of myslef that nobody noticed. However as soon as I opened the door the hot flight attendant was standing there in front of the door and gave me a glass of water. Then he looked at me pityingly and asked me if I wanted some coke. I just nodded embarrased and he gave it to me. XD... I was sick like 6 more times on that flight and had cramps all the way to Paris (where I changed planes). To this day I do not know what happened to me on that flight and it hasn't happend since and I sincerely hope it doesn't happen again because this was a horrible experience. Sorry for the giant post but I always want to know the backstory behind FML's so I thought you might too ;) Thanks for all the encouraging words btw ;)

You deserved it. Really. After not causing a scene and not leaving any vomit in the bathroom you clearly deserved to be proud and you clearly deserved that a flight attendant was waiting for you with a class of water. And there is no reason to be ashamed of being sick.

the walls paper thin.. right next to the flight attendant area.. you can't hide anything

Hey, she might have appreciated the fact you didn't defile the entire bathroom.

That’s gotta be the first time I’ve heard a positive YDI!

Glass of water? FYL, indeed! You got pre-emptively friend-zoned! Surely, the right outcome of this story is the flight attendant joins you in the bathroom, holding two glasses of champagne and her uniform strategically unbuttoned revealing the cleavage of her ample bosom... For the rest, you’ll have to buy my book.

I don't find this to be a FML really. You calmly walked to the bathroom to do what you had to do, cleaned up after yourself and caught the concern of a cute flight attendant who just wanted to help.

Greetings from another Austrian from Styria/Grüße aus der Steiermark.

Hey OP, at least he was nice to you. I want to say though, this sounds similar to what haplens to me when I eat cilantro (coriander leaf for the people outside North America). i have a food allergy to it and it makes me insanely sick if I ingest any of it. Have you considered that something you don't normally eat was in that meal that could have caused this?

It makes sense, especially if nobody else on the plane got sick.

From my own experience I can tell you that airplane toilets are not as soundproof as you would hope they are

I have in fact considered that it might have been something in the food. I don't really remember what I ate that day I just remember that it was something normal, something that I ate all the time. But maybe there was some kind of spice or ingredient in there that I was allergic too or whatever. So yes that could've been a possibilty. But i don't think I'll ever find out what it was XD... Well I'll let baygones be bygones and hope that it never happens again. ;)

OH hey! Always nice to meet fellow Austrians on here ;) Schöne Grüße aus dem schönen Tirol ;)

It sucks to be sick, at least you had a chance to strike up a conversation with a hot flight attendant.

I was waaaaay to embarrased about it to ever talk to the guy again XD.. from that point on everytime he passed by I hid as best I could XD... Well, I know it wasn't my fault but still..

It could’ve been worse — he could’ve heard you getting sick from the other end. Explosive diarrhea would be infinitely more embarrassing.

To be completely honest it did come out of both ends at one point... And I don't think I managed to be quiet about it either... So yeah... that's something you know now XD...

You had no chance with her anyway OP. You are just a Rubberduck. Of Doom. I mean, you gotta play in your own field man.
