ChromoTec tells us more.
Hey, OP here. This was my first FML published, and I was surprised that it made it. Now then, seeing as I'm typing this, yes, I did get my new phone. It took about 3 weeks on the phone with them (all of the calls took about 8 hours combined) but I finally got them to ship me a replacement, after I had my mom yell at them for about half an hour. It was pretty crazy, and I'm just lucky they sent me another of the same model, and not a cheaper, crappier phone. Also, I appreciated all of your comments, they were pretty funny. I'll try not to brick my phone again, but seeing as I did the first time, I'm surprised there weren't very many YDIs. Thanks for all of your support, and I hope you guys don't have to publish a lot of FMLs (like I had to).

Sounds like a scam...
When I had AT&T I had a defective phone and they told me my options were to ship them my phone first and then they would ship me the new one or they could put a $600 hold on my credit card which would allow them to ship the new phone and then they would release the funds after the received the defective phone.
Yes, because there's nothing scammers want more than your non functioning electronics.
And when you do get the phone, they’ll call you to tell you that you won’t be able to receive phone calls.
Umm did ya call customer service and complain because it's usually sent with the return box, have dealt with several cell company's and they always did that when returning a phone.🤔

when this happened with my phone they sent me a new one and gave me a month to send them the old one or I'd be charged for the new one. much simpler.
I'm tech support for a phone carrier. You're supposed to be sent a replacement phone, given a time frame to return the defective phone, and charged on your bill if you don't send it back.
