You can't do that either. Anyone affiliated with the company may not claim the prize. That counts friends, girlfriend, family, etc. It sucks. :/

#23, my MOTHER works at mcdonalds. I've won free meals and had my friends turn in the piece for the meal and we split it 50/50. It's really not that big of a deal.
They're not going to check that closely for just 5k. Give it to a family member to cash, preferably an aunt, uncle, or cousin with a different last name. Someone you trust. Like they're going to run a background check on EVERYONE.
Give it to someone you trust to turn it in or quit your job, claim the prize, live off of part of the $5000 for a month, then reapply. If that doesn't work, I'm sure a Wendys or a BK is nearby.

Usually they don't let current or former employees, or family members of employees claim prizes.

Outch. You should ask a friend to claim it for you and offer a share of the money. Choose a good friend, but preferably one that owes you one ;) Usually, family members of employees are not allowed to take part in give aways either, so you might want to check the fine print before sending a parent or sibling.

Back in high school, a girl we knew had the same thing happen to her, except with a PT Cruiser (this was back when they first came out and they were a big deal.) Everyone told her to get someone to cash the peices in for her.
She ended up "losing" the peices. It's possible she sold them, but we all think she just got rid of them because she didn't know anyone she trusted enough not to screw her over.
Give it to your best friend's friend that you don't know but who is trustworthy. Give them each a cut of the cash and keep your job.
I thought the way it worked was once you get the right pieces, you are "eligible" to win. Which means you have the right pieces, but then you enter a drawing to actually win the prize. So you probably wouldn't have won it anyway.

i won a trip to the Marlboro ranch in montana this year! and also marlboro gave me a check for $1,250 and a pre-paid credit card in the amount for $40.00. But i did not get to go on the trip :(...... my wicked stepmom changed her mind about watching my boys. so now i have to pay taxes on a trip that i did not get to enjoy :( life blows some times.......

i too work at a mcds. you or your freinds have to be unemployed by mcdonalds for at least 6 months bofore or after the game to be elegable. freinds can still play but they look more closely.
I worked for Mcdonalds for almost 4 years and had to deal with the monoply crap about 3 times while I worked there and i happened to read all the rules fine print and such and it states that even if you happen to quit you can not be eligible for the prize if you are currently working at mcdonalds at the time of and or were working at the time of a such date and they usually made the day in april of that year. So if you worked at mcdonalds currently or after that stated date you are ineligible. So if you quit you still cant not claim the prize.

Well, considering the fact that it's worth at least 4 months of 40hr work weeks at Micky D's (if not more), I'd say that quitting doesn't sound bad. If you don't want to lose your job, then the other option would be to sell them to a friend (and that is SELL, not SHARE) so you get a (better than half) fraction of the profit. This should be a no-brainer.

Get up a written contract with one of your friends (just in case so you have some legal recourse) and just have them cash it in for you and give them a cut for helping you out. I'd so do it if you threw me $500, $500 more than I had at the start of the day.

Yeah that happened to me at Tim Hortons. I won a $100 Tims card, but I couldn't claim it because I worked at Timmies.
My dad got fired from there for playing it when he was 17. He didn't win or claim anything though, the manager was just a dick.
i used to work for mcdonalds even if you quit you cannot claim the prize if you have been an employee for the last 6 months you can have a friend claim it for you they ownt let any family members claim it for you either good luck though

Totally fake. When my friends and I worked at McD's back in high school, we won stuff all the time on Monopoly and just let other friends turn them in. Or for food prizes, we just went to another McD's.
However if it's not fake, then I'd gladly turn in the pieces for you for 2 grand.

Yes, but sadly, a while back, some dude who worked there started cheating and found all the right slips and won a bunch of money. So now, McDonald's workers can't claim stuff. Then, later, some dude did the same thing, only difference was that he gave them to his family members. New rule is that MD workers AND their family members (immediate, I suppose) can't claim stuff. Not sure about friends, though........
