1. What makes you think that the experiments were done in the US? Much of the testing is done in Europe.
2. Yes, pot can be used for medical purposes, but that is usually a different species or subspecies of cannibis and you're not supposed to inhale it as a smoke. It is given out in tablets.
I am not stating gornment propaganda, I am stating scientific facts to combat false information that is spread by people who smoke pot. Like I said, it should be legalized, but I would advise against using it.

This is not a lie or exaggeration. The tablets are Marinol or Dronabinol, a synthesized form of THC. Because it lacks the cannabinoids and is taken differently (that is, not inhaled), its effects are greatly reduced.
And yeah, vaporizers cut out the smoke.

I said that it is usually a different type of cannibis. A friend of mine actually smoked some medical marijuanna, he said that it was a totally different (much worse) feeling. This is because what is used for medicine is not really the same as what you get on the street, mainly because a lot of dealers mix other stuff with the pot (which changes the weight) in order to rip off their customers. Also, don't think that pot doesn't screw with your life. Yes, Obama did it, but he stopped. Yes, sucessful people like Phelps and rock stars did pot, but far more musicians who did it never had any success. I know people who have been on pot since high school. They are fun as hell to hang out with and have decent jobs, but they are unhappy. When they're not high they feel like they need to be high. They're pissing their money away on the drug and are getting nothing out of it besides a short time to ignore their problems instead of trying to fix them (we all need time to relax, but this is at a rediculus level). The Beatles and such are the exceptions, not the rule. Btw, I also have asthma. When I smoked pot, it felt much better. However, it was not worth it.

Wow at all of the anti-pot idiots. Even if pot is this absolutely horrible drug that messes up your life, it should still be legal. Why? Personal liberty. Something as trivial as being able to smoke pot is actually quite a big issue regarding one's personal liberty. While you *shouldn't* fuck up your life, you should have every right to.
Even then, prohibition of any substance proves to be futile. We saw a HUGE boom in gangs during Prohibition, and it wasn't much of a coincidence. The outlawing of alcohol had a direct effect towards the rise of gangs. The people wanted their alcohol, and gangs supplied it. The same concept goes for any illegal substance today. Outlawing a vice only causes issues, and it does absolutely nothing to solve it. You know how plucking a gray hair only causes 2 to grow in it's place? Yeah, well, the same goes for drug dealers.
It's funny, though. The government is money-hungry, yet they're completely ignoring a huge cash cow right in front of their eyes. Legalizing pot and taxing it would bring in a lot of tax revenue.
Then the issue of alcohol being a worse drug than marijuana is an entirely different subject altogether. It does make you wonder though, is the whole "omg pot is bad" issue just another silly American taboo? I think so.

1. I think it is safe to assume that "conservative" was used more to describe the aunt's traditional values than her political agenda. Even if I'm wrong, the Republican party as a whole views marijuana use as a bad thing and favors its prohibition.

It's not YDI b/c he smoked pot, it's YDI because he had it around his aunt in a pretty bad hiding spot. You can't treat it the same as cigarettes because pot is still illegal. While pot isn't as bad as cigarettes and alcohol, it still isn't good for you. While it does have THC which actually has been found to kill damaged cells before they become cancerous, pot does have chemicals related to cancer. Furthermore, since you typically inhale pot for longer periods of time, you are more likely to have tar and other chemicals absorb into your lungs, which can still cause the same respiratory problems as regular smokers, such as bronchitis, wheezing, and breathing difficulty.

I think most negative comments are being made by kids who's parents have repeatedly told them weed is bad. What they don't know is that when they go to sleep their parents light up a J. Do what I do with my pot- keep it in a plastic bag in your shoe under the insole. That way, nobody will see it even if they look in the shoe. As per my last few posts...One of my best friends smokes EVERY day before his classes and he's pulling a 3.95 GPA. He's more self aware, and aware of his surroundings, both on a political and social front than most of my so-called sober friends, and n top of that, he can carry on charity work and contribute to society at large.
I have no problem with weed, it's a personal choice to smoke it. A friend of mine made me promise not to right before he died (long story), so I choose not to in his memory, but I probably would had he not held me to an agreement.
