OP I am in no way a professional but, try to take advantage of this, this can be used to both take one step in getting over your anxiety and getting closer to your crush, tell them about your anxiety and tell them anything they can do to make you feel more comfortable. Hiding from a problem often only makes it worse, and one of the best ways to fix a problem is to face it
Agreed! You can do this, OP. :) (Are you in treatment for your anxiety? If so, talk with your therapist about this, too -- and if you aren't, seriously consider entering treatment, because being so anxious that you feel you must miss out on opportunities and friendships is no fun and treatment can indeed help.)
Think of it like a futon. Or maybe try to use this as a stepping stone for getting over some of the anxiety. It won't be easy, but it's a step.
Maybe try taking the mattress off the bed frame so it's more comfortable to sleep on.
