Man or woman?

Today, I was taking an important exam for Calculus. Out of nowhere, the kid behind me starts violently kicking my desk. I quickly turn around and yell at him. He was having a seizure. FML

I agree, your life sucks (15654) - you totally deserved it (5254)

I'm pretty sure you weren't the only one to notice this. Where was everyone else helping the poor kid?

#3 - On 12/18/2009 at 6:36am by neonokku

i feel bad for the kid, but @#3 my school just left them because it could be classed as "cheating" and you'd get an "automatic fail". Which is really stupid of course.. none the less, your point exactly, why wasn't anyone helping him?

#4 - On 12/18/2009 at 6:43am by sillyzombiekid

well if he had just started the seizure chances are nobody noticed it before, since the poster says he quickly turned around to yell at him, chances are it was just after the first few kicks (one can be passed as accidental but more than two is obviously not)

Too many negative votes, comment buried. Show the comment.

So someone gets raped by someone they trusted today, and seizure boy is the one with the hard life? Nice.

#46 - On 12/19/2009 at 12:14am by sleephunters

You do realize that any seizure can kill you or cause permanent brain damage no matter how short its duration right?

#47 - On 12/19/2009 at 1:12am by cartering

It's hardly FYL...it's not like he would've noticed you were yelling, he was having a seizure. More like FHL for the embarrasment of having a seizure in public, not getting to just do test and the insane after seizure headaches. What, were you embarrased you weren't compassionate enough, and your life is fucked? lame.

#7 - On 12/18/2009 at 7:36am by Ducati45

Having a seizure in public is nothing to be embarrassed about. I myself have a had two in public. The only thing it does is scare the hell out of whoever happens to be with you at the time and get you sent to the hospital. Nothing to be enmbarrassed by.

#59 - On 12/20/2009 at 7:56am by GlambertGirl93

I hope that kid learned his lesson, having a seizure right behind you is just so rude. I hope more people yelled at him for being such a rude jerk for having a seizure in public.

#8 - On 12/18/2009 at 7:42am by Anteezy

That rat bastard will get what he deserves one day if he goes around acting like that, if i was OP I would have kicked his pregnant mother of a very tall tree.

#13 - On 12/18/2009 at 8:10am by No_Heart

"...kicked his pregnant mother of a very tall tree."

My mind = blown.

#16 - On 12/18/2009 at 8:44am by Brave_Sir_Robin

So presumably you failed the exam? You yelled, during an exam. That means fail.

#9 - On 12/18/2009 at 7:50am by IndieSinger

^ This. OP, YDI for opening your mouth during an exam.

#11 - On 12/18/2009 at 8:06am by twoknives

Yeah, FYL because someone else had a seizure. How fucking inconsiderate of him. Nah, sorry, didn't mean FYL, I actually meant Fuck You OP.

#10 - On 12/18/2009 at 7:59am by pendatic

wow sucsk to be, especially during an exam, lol atleast he has more time to study

#14 - On 12/18/2009 at 8:19am by peopleslifesucks

I had a seizure once. not a fun experience so I hope you atleast helped the guy behind you OP instead of opening your big mouth even more then you did already.

people can die by choking when having a seizure.

#15 - On 12/18/2009 at 8:33am by silbern

True they can die from choking, but only if someone is stupid enough to stick something in their mouth while seizing.

#50 - On 12/19/2009 at 1:18am by cartering

This is only a YDI if you continued being an arse after you realized he was having a seizure. Being pissed about someone vigorously kicking your chair is a very natural reaction which I wouldn't fault anyone.

#18 - On 12/18/2009 at 8:50am by DoingItWrong

If you had yelled at him instead of turned to yell at him this would be an FML

#19 - On 12/18/2009 at 8:58am by FHGrif

you should have let a teacher know instead of yelling at him

#20 - On 12/18/2009 at 9:15am by catatonicsleep

Yes, it's not natural in any way to simply yell at the person instead of quietly raising your hand and saying, "Excuse me Ms. Bitters the kid behind me is kicking my chair". In the meanwhile there's a full-blown earthquake taking place at the back of his chair.

#21 - On 12/18/2009 at 9:59am by ncoppola

More like fuck the kid's life that was sitting behind you. Jeez..

#22 - On 12/18/2009 at 10:13am by RushFanatic

OP, the world doesn't rotate around you. Your initial reaction was normal but once you saw what was happening you still made it all about yourself. It's not an FML, it's FHL.

#23 - On 12/18/2009 at 10:20am by lostfaithinpppl

I've seen a lot of self centered FML's, but I don't see this one that way. FML isn't just feeling like "god why did this happened to me", it can also be "oh shit I can't believe I just did that to this person".

#26 - On 12/18/2009 at 12:21pm by Kalofinator

Exactly, I've seen alot of them like that.

#62 - On 12/29/2009 at 7:26pm by Kami84

Wow. a seizure. i would never have guessed that....... i don't know what to say to that

#24 - On 12/18/2009 at 10:45am by Applepineapple31

Did you tell him to grow up and to actually study next time so he wouldn't have to fake a seizure to get out of the exam? I would have.

#25 - On 12/18/2009 at 10:46am by blueknight1st

You need serious help if you have honestly thought for one second that kid was faking a seizure. You should also look up seizure triggers - difficult exams are a common trigger because of the stress involved. Many adult onset epileptics are diagnosed during finals of college for this exact reason

#49 - On 12/19/2009 at 1:16am by cartering

wow poor kid, did you atleast help the guy?

WTF man?!

#41 - On 12/18/2009 at 5:38pm by DarlingNikki_85

Hey, hey buddy. Hey, OP. Fuck you. That kid's way worse off than you are in this situation, and how dare you try to make it about you! Just move out of the way for someone with a brain cell to go help him or something.

#32 - On 12/18/2009 at 2:55pm by Kylias

Today, I was taking a Calculus exam when I started having a seizure. The girl in front of me turned around and yelled at me for kicking her desk. FML

#33 - On 12/18/2009 at 3:55pm by swaneh

Correction:

#34 - On 12/18/2009 at 3:58pm by swaneh

#39 - On 12/18/2009 at 5:28pm by Danzergirl1

I see you're from Italy, Danzergirl1, is that why you can't write in English?

#42 - On 12/18/2009 at 6:08pm by pendatic

Well, it's not your fault, you didn't know.
But... Did you help him?

#44 - On 12/18/2009 at 6:52pm by Lucii_Furr

You've never had a seizure had you. Its not uncommon for them to wipe your memory of recent events clean. more severe ones can eliminate your memory of the past few months or years, and it can take 6 months for lost academic ability to return.

#48 - On 12/19/2009 at 1:14am by cartering

how the hell is this and FML? He was the one having a seizure. Fuck his life you inconsiderate prick. I hope he knocks your fucking teeth down your throat.

#51 - On 12/19/2009 at 1:38am by grrrarrrg2

LOL, sense, you make it.

#55 - On 12/19/2009 at 5:28am by isantorin

who cares? it happens & you didn't know.

#52 - On 12/19/2009 at 2:10am by azn_whiz

It could have been worse: once when I was taking a math test (Algebra 2, I think) my ear LITERALLY started to bleed. I don't know why it did then and it's never happened again.

#53 - On 12/19/2009 at 2:11am by DulcetDiscord

That's easy, your brain was trying too hard and nearly killed itself. You're lucky to still be here today.

#54 - On 12/19/2009 at 5:16am by twoknives

Why's everyone pissed at OP? Can you all honestly say, that if this happened to you, you wouldn't have a moment of, "...SHIT! DX" reaction? I'm sure you would. Nowhere does it say OP didn't help. FMLs are short, OP obviously couldn't have told the entire story.

#56 - On 12/19/2009 at 5:31am by isantorin

It's the fact that the other guy was way worse off than the OP yet the OP still made it about himself, that's why everyone is pissed at the OP.

#57 - On 12/19/2009 at 7:25am by pendatic

I would just like to say - I'm epileptic, and even I'm not offended by the fact that this guy was obviously embarassed that he was about to yell at someone having a seizure. Ya'll need to chill. Just sayin'.

#58 - On 12/19/2009 at 1:14pm by conclusivelead

Almost impossible to choke while having a seizure. Unless somebody puts something in their mouth to "stop them from choking on their tongue". Yeah, not smart.

#60 - On 12/20/2009 at 7:58am by GlambertGirl93

Tell me that if someone started randomly kicking your chair you wouldn't turn around and be a bit annoyed. How was the OP meant to know he was having a seizure? Plus, I'm sure the OP would have helped the second he/she found out.

#61 - On 12/21/2009 at 6:10pm by justintodd95

hahaha oh my goshhh
