Today, I went to the movies. Not only did the movie end up being awful, but I came to my car to find out someone drew Squidward from "SpongeBob" with large letters spelling "I LIKE POTATOES!" on my windshield. In permanent marker. FML

Rubbing alcohol will take that right off. Goo Gone if that doesn't work. No big deal. At least they didn't draw a penis or something.
Even alcohol-based hand sanitizer will work, if that's all you have handy.

Ethanol, acetone, methylene chloride, diethyl ether, benzene . . . you have a variety of ways to get it off.
#60, you probably used an organic solvent (such as one I mentioned), not water.
#84, not quite . . . Windex(R) is water-based.

If goo gone, rubbing alcohol or a dry erase marker doesn't work, you can take a razor blade and scrape it off. The easiest way to do this is with one of those scrapers you can buy at an auto parts store.

Whew. Well, that's not exactly anything to worry about. An acetone-based solvent (i.e. nail polish remover, paint thinner, etc) or isopropyl should take that right off with a good bit of rubbing. If not, scraping it off with a razor blade should work since you've already softened it up a bit. It's not the end of the world, nor is it even an FML.

fingernail polish remover also works. if that doesn't get some PVC pipe cleaner and put it on there. make sure not to get that on your paint tho.

Permanent marker comes off with acetone. Which is in nail polish remover. So it isn't too bad. I would have laughed.

My friend told me before that if you spray axe on permanent marker and rub it comes right off....he then proceeded to do it on spray paint right in front of me and it came right off......I do not doubt that it will do the same thing for permanent marker

If you listen to any of these people and use rubbing alcohol or "axe", you deserve it. These both with also eat the paint that this marker is on. If you don't mind instead of marker, a section of jacked up paint, then go for it. The reason these work is they eat away at whatever they're on. Goo gone is probably your best bet.
except it clearly says they wrote on his windshield, so as long as he is careful any of the above suggestions would be fine.
If she has paint over her windshield, I think she has bigger problems than Squidward. Like how she sees when she drives.
Ethanol or acetone (nail polish remover) will take it right off... we use it all the time on permanent marker in lab. Works like a charm.

Just because it's fixable doesn't mean it's not an FML. She still had to come out of a crappy movie to find her car f*cked up and probably unfit to drive home since her view was obstructed.
But this actually helped me because awhile ago, one of our housemates wrote on our dry erase board with permanent marker and we thought it was ruined! I just used some of the above tricks and it's good as new! :]

im 15 and i know this, while youre obviously older (since you drive) and dont know this. in chem we used to write on the beakers in permanent marker all the time. not hard to get off. dumbass.

I am wondering if you passed chemistry. Your chemistry teacher should know that while permanent marker WOULD eventually come off with water, it takes about a half a second to take it off with acetone.
