Man or woman?

Today, I woke up to find that I left my headlights on last night. I found out by the headlights of my car smashed and a post-it note on my windshield saying "you accidentally left your headlights on... I took care of that for you". FML

I agree, your life sucks (16715) - you totally deserved it (2901)

#33 - On 11/14/2009 at 1:47pm by GreenHacker

Woman. No wonder she left them on.
Just kidding, i left mine on once when I first started driving ^^

#38 - On 11/14/2009 at 6:12pm by dudeitsdanny

I would have done the same thing. After all is is nice of them to take care of it for you.

#2 - On 11/14/2009 at 6:31am by popatia

Damn that sux. Lol

#3 - On 11/14/2009 at 6:32am by Tarak

aww man, that sucks

#4 - On 11/14/2009 at 6:42am by Brooklyn_c

That sucks. They couldn't knock on your door? Instead they bust your lights.

#5 - On 11/14/2009 at 6:54am by arcadiaware

How thoughtful and creative of the guy smashing your headlights to return to his place, grab a pen and a post-it note, concisely and wittily explain his motives, then return to your vehicle to put it on the windshield.

You'd think someone thoughtful enough to think of your reaction would try to find out where you lived to tell you, or to just put a few dirty rags over the lights, since he obviously knows the expensive inconvenience he's putting you through.

But then you wouldn't have an situation worthy to submit to FML, would you? Looks like it worked out for everyone involved.

#6 - On 11/14/2009 at 7:02am by enough4

Agreed agreed lol!

You have to admit, this guy was pretty hilarious. Maybe he truly felt it was the best way (in his twisted mind) to take care of it. It's kind of cute in a way. But of course I would be pissed off. And then I would laugh about it. My car is insured.

#27 - On 11/14/2009 at 12:24pm by saviisneat

Hmmm I guess I was a little too sarcastic, then. Given that I was trying to say that I think this a fake/unlikely/extremely exaggerated FML.

#40 - On 11/14/2009 at 7:05pm by enough4

how would dirty rags help the situation anyways?

#43 - On 11/14/2009 at 9:44pm by MagicMeds

What the Fuck is wong with you? Turn off your Fucking Lights!!!

#8 - On 11/14/2009 at 7:31am by Skull_300

OP deserves it for having a car so old it doesn't beep incessantly when you try to do that.

#17 - On 11/14/2009 at 10:12am by moonfire

I have a 2007 model car and it does not beep if I leave my lights on. On the other hand, it does automatically turn them off when I shut off the car.

#30 - On 11/14/2009 at 12:34pm by molacolacake

Lol that's not even a new thing. I don't know why they don't make all cars with lights that turns off when you turn the key off!

#45 - On 11/15/2009 at 8:21am by bored690

just leave them on again and wait for him to come back, they always come back.

#9 - On 11/14/2009 at 7:51am by MaddogTotten

Depends. Will it cost more to fix your headlights or have gotten a new battery?

#10 - On 11/14/2009 at 7:51am by Peroxide

Are you really throwing out your battery every time it dies?

#11 - On 11/14/2009 at 8:00am by roflcobra

lol

#35 - On 11/14/2009 at 3:39pm by Chefaid87

Yeah, what can i say? the lights were keeping me up, i had to sort it out.

#12 - On 11/14/2009 at 8:21am by ChaplinSnakker

Aww, what a kind person!

#13 - On 11/14/2009 at 9:04am by iFruit

I suspect if you were to follow the path of your light beams to the window they were shining on, you could thank him in person for saving you from a dead battery. You could even take the note and the broken lights and insert them up his rectum.

#14 - On 11/14/2009 at 9:07am by saculmot

you're a hero

#32 - On 11/14/2009 at 12:51pm by judemeister

Your headlights got reaped. Don't try to make sense of it.. when it's your time, it's your time.

#15 - On 11/14/2009 at 9:43am by mercyFML

Occam's Razor: The simplest solution is always the best.

#16 - On 11/14/2009 at 9:59am by perdix

murder them

#18 - On 11/14/2009 at 10:24am by gpstyne

Get off the computer and call the cops on whoever's house your lights were shining into.

#19 - On 11/14/2009 at 10:38am by turdburgers

Someone stole my stereo twice, so I finally stuck a peice of cardboard in the hole with "Already Stolen" on it. A few days later I found my window smashed in and " Had to check" written on it. Sucked.

#20 - On 11/14/2009 at 10:49am by alwaysalady

Omg where the hell do you live? After a while I would put a tiger in my car at night. Best way to scare off potential thieves. I'm sorry but it's pretty funny that someone wrote back "had to check".

#28 - On 11/14/2009 at 12:28pm by saviisneat

Ok, now that's just funny. I want to be that person's friend.

#31 - On 11/14/2009 at 12:41pm by girlygirl666

That's one of the FML is read several months ago.

#36 - On 11/14/2009 at 4:18pm by idrivefast

Lot of surprisingly clever thieves with pens at the ready these days, it would seem. And here I was thinking most people who break into your car are agitated idiot crackheads who just want to take your shit and run.

#42 - On 11/14/2009 at 9:34pm by enough4

Wow enough4, can you be any more sarcastic on this FML? We get it, you don't think these stories are likely.

#44 - On 11/15/2009 at 1:25am by Maddoctor

Am I killing the illusion for you?

#48 - On 11/16/2009 at 4:13am by enough4

how do you not know that your headlights are on? you have to be a complete dumbass not to notice it.

#21 - On 11/14/2009 at 10:49am by avfcfan89

lol, at least this isn't one of those situations where people damage someone's property thinking it is someone else's.

#22 - On 11/14/2009 at 11:02am by powermad80

At least the person helped you out

#23 - On 11/14/2009 at 11:24am by kelseyrae

Next time you'll remember to turn them off, stupid. YDI

#24 - On 11/14/2009 at 11:38am by lostfaithinpppl

wow, people need to chill out, sometimes you just forget to turn off the headlights. my car beeps at me if i leave them on if the door is open and the keys are out of the ignition, and i still left 'em on by accident once
shit happens

#25 - On 11/14/2009 at 11:53am by aznboymike175

You are a dumbass then. If you DON'T turn off the lights while the car is BEEPING at you saying "Hey dumbass don't forget to turn the lights off" then you deserve to have your lights punched out as well.

#29 - On 11/14/2009 at 12:30pm by saviisneat

that is fucking hilarious, eventhough it sucks for you ;) If life gives you lemons, ask for salt and tequila

#26 - On 11/14/2009 at 12:17pm by JohnBarleycorn

Oh that sucks. Luckily my car lights turn themselves off after a bit. Good thing though because I hear the light housing for my car costs $300 each. Ouch!

#34 - On 11/14/2009 at 2:55pm by Erindub

Whatever window your headlights were facing into is the perpetrator. You should return the favor at some point in time, and then set up a video camera to record your car/path/door area so if they return again, you'll have evidence against the assh**e.

#37 - On 11/14/2009 at 5:06pm by wordgirl

stop bitching. do something about it.

#39 - On 11/14/2009 at 6:13pm by FeverTalk

to be honest, if someone had left their headlights on, keeping me awake then i'd have done the same.

maybe if i was feeling nice I'd just have removed the bulbs.

#41 - On 11/14/2009 at 9:22pm by ico2

How do you forget to turn off your headlights at night?? They are kind of bright when it's dark...

#46 - On 11/15/2009 at 12:13pm by larcenousturco

he could have covered the headlights with post-its.
