post #69, omg lol i rule!
Well hey, now you have a story to tell! Lawsuit by any chance? XD
#2 - On 07/17/2009 at 10:15am by AntX2
Lawsuit? You're freakin' retarded. All it takes is some blue toner and she'll have a beautiful shade of blonde. And it's not like it was the salon's fault that their building caught on fire!! What were they supposed to do? "Hey, Mr. Fireman, can you stick that hose on my client's hair?"
haha u can get a job as a clown XD
#3 - On 07/17/2009 at 10:15am by kirbz
well hello there hayley williams, it's nice to meet you.
HAHAHAHA I WAS JUST GONNA SAY THAT. HAYLEY WILLIAMS. ROFLMAO. We think alike.
hah,i was gonna say the same thing xD
Yikes!
OP: Luckily, the bleach doesn't last to long. In a few weeks, your hair shouldn't be as bright.
when i bleach my hair it always gets brighter with time...
they should have given you a free correction. which hairdresser lets his customer go with ugly hair?
agreed. i used to do hair and there's no way any self-respecting hairdresser would let you go with orange hair. it's easily corrected with with a toner, and you don't have to wait to use it.
so FYL for having orange hair but find a new hairdresser, yours apparently sucks.

Right. Their business is on fire and their main concern is making sure the customer leaves with picture perfect hair, even though they now lack a salon in which to DO the hair.
OP, I'm really sorry.
It wasn't your fault, but it can be corrected easily.
Green toner will counteract orange and red tones. If you use green shampoo, it'll help. I know Pert is green.
If your hair is a pale yellow color, white toner will counteract the yellow tones, making it platinum.
Your hair isn't ruined, and I hope that the salon offers to fix it for free.
For everyone else:
bleaching your hair is not that bad for you.
I've been bleaching my hair for over four years with 30 and 40 vol developer.
My hair isn't broken, gummy, damaged, nor have I ever had to cut it off.
If you condition, use protein treatments, give your hair a break every once in a while, and stay away from hot styling products, then hair will be in pretty good condition. It's all about knowing how to take care of it properly.
It CAN break if you don't know what you're doing and just try to bleach it straight to white. Never, ever do that.
You must always bleach until it turns pale lemon, like the inside of a banana, then use a white toner, and you will have platinum hair.
Also, don't try to bleach from black to platinum. That is very, very difficult and best left to a professional.

Thank you, Studentwoes. I was going to say the same thing. I'd rather have orange and blond hair (which can always grow back) than a negatively altered business.
wow that sucks but can't you just dye it back to your original hair color, or the color you wanted it
You survived a fire, and got your hair bleached bright yellow and orange in the process. FYL? Really?
#9 - On 07/17/2009 at 10:29am by Jojul
agreed you could have been injured or something
Why do people sometimes feel the need to prove why the OP's story doesn't really constitute an FML? It's not like their saying that they have the worst life ever, but they're recounting a problematic anecdote. Whether she survived the fire or not is not the point of the story and the fact that she did doesn't lessen the problem posed by the bleached hair. If you saw this story in a movie you'd consider it humor - so sit back and enjoy the comedy...
Thank you, 45. I agree.
Also, I'm sure no one actually DIED in the fire she is talking about, otherwise I'm sure she wouldn't have posted it because her story would have seemed much less sucky.
Well I'm sure the problem here isnt dying it back, its just the humility she had to face. FYL.
I think you've mixed up "humility" with "humiliation"...
#23 - On 07/17/2009 at 11:07am by fleg
But you know, a few years from now you'll be looking back on that time and saying "Damn, at least I had crazy hair once in my life". And chances are it looks better than you think. It's always like that with hair.
You shoulda found a fireman to hose you down
*presses the imaginary 'Who Cares?' button* It's not that big of a deal. Just dye over it. And as for being embarrassed, I'm pretty sure people understand you not worrying about your hair when you're escaping from a FIRE.
well you should be happy you are alive
well technically, she did "DYE" because of that fire.
hahahaha...get it? XD

rofl!

Lame, sorry.
#53 - On 07/17/2009 at 1:51pm by DemonicAngel151
FYL??? what about the people whose business caught fire?
I'm sure they're capable of writing their own FML.
#28 - On 07/17/2009 at 11:15am by fleg
Aww, and we just learned that orange is a trashy color. FYL indeed.
Would you rather be burned to death?
sounds kinda hot. post pics please?
Sorry that sux. Now that song is stuck in my head...I'm Mr. Heat Miser, I'm Mr. Sun...
To all you lovely jerks bitching that "at least she didn't die in the fire"
Every last one of you would have posted the story, had it happened to you.
I don't know if I'd say FYL, but it's definitely not fun to have your hair ruined. Especially when it's through no fault of your own.
#26 - On 07/17/2009 at 11:10am by fleg
hm.
#27 - On 07/17/2009 at 11:12am by fleg
it's better than dying in the fire, so suck it up!
Your hair matches the fire :D
lol
True. Quick, somebody dye their hair light blue and white! (ice) (fire and ice)
Just dye it back? Not such a big deal. It's not that humiliating! After all, coming to a salon I'd expect to see no less...
I have black hair and i tried dying my fringe and bottom of my hair a very pale blonde. The first time.. it came out a yellow orange, second time it's like a yellowish blonde. It doesn't look bad, but I feel your pain.
On the brighter note, now you look like Hailey Williams from Paramore :D
You should get the hair salon to pay for another dye job. I know that wasn't their fault or anything but it was still in their salon and you payed for a certain thing done.
Most hair dyes (including bleach) stop working after a certain amount of time, so I doubt its true...
But on the account that it is true, I wouldn't re-dye your hair, because it would just ruin your hair. Make it fin and brittle.
not necessarily.
You must not leave in bleach for more than 60 minutes, this is dependent on the volume as well.
The stronger the volume, the quicker the results, the less you'll want to leave it in.
It might stop working after 60 minutes, but it can still cause damage to leave it in. It's chemicals after all.
If the OP has orange and yellow hair, then a green or white toner will counteract it.
Pale yellow hair can turn platinum with white toner, and orange/red hair can be neutralized with green toner.
The salon should fix the OP's hair for free, any decent hairdresser would do the same.
I bleach my hair all the time at home with 30 and 40 volume developer. It doesn't do that much damage if you condition and use protein treatments, and if you give your hair a break once in a while.
My hair has yet to fall out, turn gummy, or be cut off because I take my time and do it right.
musikbox: You don't use green toner. I have white blonde hair. After bleach the toner you should use is dependent on whether your hair appears yellow or orange. Orange=blue and yellow= White with a hint of purple or purple. The conditioner or shampoo you use to retain the shade of bleached blonde should also be blue or purple.
It follows the colour wheel, purple is opposite of yellow, blue the opposite of orange. Even when painting a self portrait involving my platinum hair I used yellow paint neutralized with purple.
yeah, I know, I meant blue, but I was in a rush to type this >____<
I would rather have a botched dye job then die in a fire. I'm just sayin...
Shouldn't the stylist have been the one keeping track of your foils anyway?
You're alive and have a few weeks of embarrassment ahead of you. It's no biggie.
Oh yeah. Fuck your life for not being on fire instead. Now your hair just looks like it's on fire instead of actually being on fire. -_-
hmmm i think i'd take a bad haircut and pay a little extra money to fix that than say...DIE IN A MOTHERFUCKING FIRE?
jesus...be glad that your business didnt burn down. THAT guy has a legit fml
FYL? What about the people who lost their business in a fire?? That's a REAL problem.. Not some temporary inconvenience like your dye job.
tell them you want it fixed for free, or you'll tell everyone exactley which salon it was that messed you up so bad!
no business likes a dissatisfied customer.
It's called toner, besides, in an accident like that, at least you'll get a service for free.
At least it's only hair. you can change it as often as you want.
I don't see what youre complaining about. Most hair styles done with foils are hideous anyway.
Yea.. Because all highlights are ugly. You're a freakin' ignorant moron. You probably couldn't tell foil work from an all over hair color if your life depended on it.
Um, how about being happy you didn't die in that fire?
#57 - On 07/17/2009 at 2:36pm by Bina77
Woah, that sucks. FYL.
But at least you didn't die :D
would you prefer they left you there and your hair got burned off like in that michael jackson video?
LOL, that sucks to be you, girl
On the bright side... They can add purple toner to ur bleached part to take away the orangeness and then u can add ANY color you want! Even pink! Also, ur alive n still have hair :-)
At least you didn't die in the fire.
Why did you have foils in your hair if you were only getting a haircut?
#68 - On 07/17/2009 at 4:38pm by msval78
Okay, are some people annoying, ignorant, or just plain dumb? She was getting her haircut, yes.. You can also get your hair dyed when you take a trip the to hairdressers, FUCK! News to you?! She probably just put 'haircut' rather than 'hair dyed', as force of habit, or perhaps she was getting that to.
ydi it for getting your hair cut. just grow it like me.
Unfortunately, I might actually believe this if you didn't say you were "getting a haircut" followed by the use of foils. I realize that my mom, sister, cousin, and 2 aunts are cosmetologists, but regardless, it wouldn't take someone of that experience to know that FOILS are not required for a haircut. A straight story = a believable one :)
to jjenifferr05, I have a college education and graduated w/ honors! If the op was getting their hair dyed then that's what they should have said not haircut! you don't use foil for a haircut... I shouldn't have to put 2 and 2 together. It should be written correctly! Now call me ignorant one more time!
#74 - On 07/17/2009 at 7:03pm by msval78
how does anyone deserve this?
smh stfu.
between orange hair and burning alive.... I pick orange hair!
heyy well u can always dye it back but hey on the bright side u have hayley willaims hair she has sweet hairr
#77..AGREED. So does everyone else, whether they admit it or not..seriously.
I'm a hair stylist and that is very easy to correct!! Hopefully it'll be free though!
that is so awesome i mean it
Hey... my hair's yellow and orange... on purpose... fuck you
I'd rather have yellow and orange hair than be in a hospital with 3rd degree burns..
At least ur alive better then looking weird
I can't believe so many people are saying this isn't an FML because she survived. That's like saying that if someone tripped and broke their nose, they shouldn't be complaining because they're "lucky to be alive". Please, it's still an FML because she still has bleach in her hair and she'll have to face the humiliation of sticking with her awful hair until she can get it back to normal.
Why does yellow and orange mean awful or ugly? Look at my hair. Is it awful?
Um, if there was a fire alarm and you were watching the fire being put out.. HOW the hell would you take your foils out? Would you just RUN right on home and do it? ....I cannot believe the stupidity of some of you people who post FMLs.
wow that's gotta suck!!=(
...because that is so much more tragic than the place burning down
get over it
wow, hope they didn't make you pay for it!
Make the person that started the fire pay to fix your [and anyone else's messed-up] hair.
So you where not even interviewed by the local TV station now that would have been shweet!!
I hope you like anime cuz now your hair is gonna make you look like a cosplayer
