My wife's family did this on our first honeymoon; AND they booked rooms on both sides of our room.
We had purposely loud sex every morning and night for 2 weeks.
EDIT: Only one of their rooms was connected.

Tell them to switch hotels and that this vacation is for you and your husband alone! It might hurt their feelings but they need to know that they just can't run into your life whenever they feel like it now. Avoid them and politely asking them to stay at a different hotel could also help as well.
How was she not supposed to tell them... they were at the wedding weren't they. And how come they deserve it for going on a honeymoon... if you went do you want your family there? If they follow her there obviously they've been doing this all her life.

All depends on who you are related to ya know.
Ouch. Loudly tell everyone in the hotel how your parents insist on invading your privacy and followed you on your honeymoon. They should be sufficiently embarrassed and will either leave or stay in their room.

over 20 years ago when my aunt and uncle got married my grandparents (aunts parents) went on their honeymoon. my grandmothers idea probably as she would never see anything wrong with doing something like that.
This is when you pull your family aside (I don't care if they paid for the wedding), and rip into them. I can't believe that anyone in this day and age would think it's acceptable to join their child, unannounced, on their honeymoon.

oh my gosh... something really similar happened to me recently! my bf and i had planned a romantic weekend away at a cute bed and breakfast. when his (very annoying and meddling) mom found out where we were going she decided that it sounded like fun and she invited herself (and her husband, my bfs father) along. instead of a cute, intimate weekend for just my bf and me, we were forced to constantly socialize and entertain them, leaving us with very little alone time.
the kicker: his mom booked the hotel room RIGHT next to ours, taking the only queen bed that was available for the weekend. we had to sleep on 2 twins pushed together, and were unable to have any sex bc they could hear everything we did.
in short: I FEEL YOUR PAIN. don't you just want to kick them in the throat?
