Today, my girlfriend and her mother bought a hanger for my $2000 guitar as a birthday present. They wanted to surprise me by hanging it on the wall. They screwed it upside down, so before I came home it fell off and my guitar broke. FML

People really shouldn't touch other people's instruments, especially one that costs so much. It was a nice thought but a $2000 guitar will be tough to replace, especially since instruments are like children to musicians :( FYL

I hate it too when someone touches my guitars. Had a neighborsboy who was feeding my cat when I was in vacation and I told him to not touch my guitars. When I came back they all stood in the rack on the other side. Next year, I put them all away in the boxes. I wouldn't touch other peoples things and I want the same for me.

Even then, unless that guitar can be repaired, it wouldn't be the same. Instruments, especially ones you've had a while, aren't so easily replaced.

I'm so sorry. I know I was heartbroken and so mad when I came home from a trip to Italy to find out that my sister and her friends broke my beloved stratocaster. They took it out of it's case and used it without permission and accidently stepped on it. Seriously hope you can possibly get it fixed or maybe your gf/her mom could buy you a new one.
