By Its My BDay I Can Cry If I Want To - 10/08/2016 16:51 - United States - Ephrata

Today, all of my friends bailed from the birthday party I was throwing myself. This was also after they had encouraged me for months to have one, knowing I'd never had my birthday celebrated before. FML

Aw, OP! Please don't cry! Their pathetic actions aren't worth your tears. Those aren't real friends, and karma will get them one day. You don't need them in your life. Much better friends are out there waiting for you to meet them. Keep your chin up, smile, remember you're beautiful inside and out and try to make the best out of the day. Us here on FML are here for you. Happy Birthday!

I was going to apologize & wish you a Happy Birthday anyway, but Comrox's post nailed it. Sorry to hear, OP.

Yeah, karma will get them. I bet they'll be slugs or something in their next life.

Theres needs to be a most uplifting comment badge. I do believe you would've gotten silver, if not gold for that one.

There assholes, not even worth your time.

I'm not sure if it's more sad that they all ditched you, or that you've never celebrated a birthday before.

OP that is sad. I feel terrible for you.

I'm never celebrated my birthday either.

I'll celebrate with you/for you! I just busted open a drink in your honor :)

Step one: Plan a party for out in the middle of nowhere. (Like perhaps a lake?) Make it a midnight party. Step two: Send an invitation to everyone and sell it. (Say there's a keg, games, bathing suit attire, etc.). Step three: Let them all stand around this lake in bathing suits dumbfounded that you aren't there. Don't answer the phone if they call you either. Step four: When you do see them in person, tell them "yeah, about that. I completely forgot that I didn't want a party after all, but I assumed you guys wouldn't show up anyway, therefore, I didn't bother calling to tell you guys." Step five: Write them all off and find better friends. Seriously.

Step 3) have that great party with your new real friends at another lake. Step 4) tell them your sorry the next day you must have accidentally told them the wrong lake but they missed a really wild time. Hopefully you'll be telling the truth.

What would happen is that her friends have a great party on their own, assuming they showed up.
