It's a trap

By Dangling - This FML is from back in 2016 but it's good stuff - United States - Lizella

Today, as I entered our narrow hallway while leaving the bathroom, my belt loop caught on the knob of a nearby closet. My husband had to come and rescue me as I hung there, my ass in the air. FML

There was an opportunity there, but good for him on not taking it.

Lol they're married anyway.. Though you still need permission.

Not necessarily. I mean you don't ask "do you want to sex?" every time you want to go down haha. Sort of ruins the mood. I'd say consent rather than permission. She'll let you know if she doesn't want to do anything

not really, i mean it’s his wife

That's what you think. But nooo. I still get criticized and called a cannibal whenever I remove one of my girls from the freezer hooks. It hurts my feelings. :(

Hey, don't let those bastards get you down, Welshy! I thought you were very gentle when you took me off my hook—which, by the way, was made of the comfiest metal! Now I have this new prosthetic leg, and you have a full stomach! Win-win!

I'm so glad you enjoyed the accommodations, Trip. I treat my dinner guests with all the respect and care they deserve, and I hope you found being snugly bundled and aged equally as pleasing. Only the best for you.

How can you get stuck so badly that someone else has to come get you? I mean, I've gotten myself hung up on my belt loops more than a few times on doorknobs, handles, what have you, but I always got myself out of it without needing to resort to cutting anything or relying on happenstance passersby. Just… HOW??

I'm amazed you guys aren't grasping this. The OP is very, very short and was walking down the hallway. When she was about to pass the closet, she jumped—as we ALL do when we get near closets—and got hung on the knob by one of her belt loops. This is standard stuff.

#19, you must be confused, do you not know that jumping (preferably as high as possible) when walking past a closet is rudimentary politeness ?

its possible. I learned that the hard way

It's okay, 19. I had to read it again to understand the sarcasm.

I still don't get how she got stuck it's not exactly possible to get the belt loop stuck on and then hang there shed suddenly have to shrink like a foot

Did you in fact wave it like you just didn't care?

Are your closet knobs like the staircases at Hogwarts? Do they move to different positions intermittently? The only way I see you hanging off of one is if it moved higher after hooking your belt loop.

how strong is that belt loop!?

OP's belt loop snagged. They then were hung by the belt loop because their momentum yanked then off their feet and made it so their feet were off the ground, due to the weight of their torso tilting their head down towards the ground. Not that complicated.

I'm more facinated on how you know the specifics of this... I mean I've snagged bad enough to need to remove my pants and undo it myself, but this is a whole new level.

yes, but naturally your body would fall back down and your lower half would be close enough to the ground to stand again.

Not really. Weight distribution means a lot of the average person's weight is in their torso- meaning belt line and up. On the other side of the fulcrum is the person's legs. So most of the mass is in the top half, unless the person has a very bottom-heavy frame. As for how I know, I've had it happen to me, and also seen it happen to someone else. Not at the same time, obviously, but it does happen, even if it isn't common.

Also who has a belt loop strong enough to hold them up? Wouldn't it too?

I am so glad it isn't just me that does this!

He had a very strong opportunity there
