Today, I freaked because my adored pet snake had what appeared to be a tear in her belly scales. After souring the internet and worrying sick about vet costs that I cannot pay, I finally found a fourm that held the answer. All this worrying for... You guessed it. A belly button. FML

Umbilical cords are a mammalian feature, I didn't think snakes could have them? May be an idea to look into that again, OP.
