Today, a close friend told me she had no plans for her birthday. I found out she was lying when I had to serve her and 9 other mutual friends dinner at the restaurant I work at. I don't know what's worse, the fact that I wasn't invited or that none of them even remembered that I worked there. FML

Yeah I don't know about that "close friend" part...

Damn OP. She is obviously not a good friend. Let her/them go and move on! You deserve someone who would treat you right and not do that crap to you! She's obviously being fake. Go find someone worth your time!

I don't really understand how this stuff happens

unless it was a surprise and she didn't plan it.

I wouldn't risk my job and behave unprofessionally because of a personal grudge. Shit like this done by people who would are the reason no one takes hospitality jobs seriously or respects anyone working them.

I ******* hate these kind of "people" so much!

Close friend my ass... Charge them double. That's shitty.

How exactly do you charge someone double? I mean I would notice if I was charged 20 dollars for a 10 dollar dish...

So you can look like an ass AND get fired

11, I wouldn't care at that point. They've made their decision.

Because bad friends are a great reason to get fired

There's always that one "friend"

And in this case there are 10 of them! OP sure has been dished up a serving of bad luck in the friendship game.

That's not nice...I hope they tipped you well at least?

Hope you served that food in a way that made them worried what you might have done to it.

Yeah. No need to actually do anything. Just serve them the food and tell her you've included something extra special just for her. If she complains to your boss you simply have to say "She's a good friend. I meant I included extra basil cause it's her birthday and she came to my workplace just so she could be with me on her birthday."

That sounds like Penny serving Sheldon at the Cheese Cake Factory.

This is not the definition of someone close..Find better friends.

Hope they left a tip at least... Hopefully better tips than what we're providing here
