Today, I came out of the closet. I came out on Facebook to spare myself awkward conversations and gossip. I wrote a deeply meaningful status about my partner and my pride in who I was. The only responses were, "Lol", "Hacked", and similar remarks. FML

I'm sorry to hear that. You'd think in this day and age it would be different. I live in NC and people are still blowing up at each other over Amendment 1. You have your partner. That's all the support you really need. Many straight people can't even say they have that.
