Today, my brother called me up. He said he needed to talk to me. Whenever someone says that, I naturally I get nervous. He said, "I gave one of my friends your number." I was shocked and asked why. "Your life makes me sad." FML

Hey OP! My mom did something similar to me. We've been together for six months now and it's been amazing. If he's willing to set up his own sister with one of his friends I'm sure it came from a place of love. Don't take it so hard. ?

And his friend might turn out to be the love of your life!

Maybe you fall in love, maybe you get a restraining order. You need excitement in your life OP

Yes. Yes, I'm sure that's what she meant.

As sweet as that is, he had no right to do that. Just because he's his friend doesn't mean he can interfere in your personal life.

He obviously cares deeply for his sister and gave her an opportunity to meet someone nice. She can always say no. There's probably a lot of lonely people out there whom may not be so lonely if they had a similar opportunity.

He probably still should have asked before giving her number away without her permission.

A pity "date" still counts as getting some action!

You know you got a problem when your brother starts pimping out his friends to you.

But he was pimping out OP to his friends.

It just means he cares and wants to see the best out of you. My brother did something similar but let me live rent free in his house.

That's not the same as giving your number to his friend without knowing. I know OP's brother meant no harm but he should have asked, in my opinion.

as long as its someone you know or at least have an idea of who the friend is, I don't think its too bad! I just see it as your brother caring about you and/or wanting to see you happy!
