Today, I was texting my girlfriend. I went to reply to her message and somehow accidentally deleted our conversation. My parents regularly go through my phone and noticed the missing texts. They won't believe that we weren't sexting. FML.

Wow... the lack of privacy in your life is disturbing. I think you should choose a good password on your phone.

How old are you? If you're old enough to own a smartphone, then you're old enough to have private conversations. Your parents are way too intrusive.

whenever i had a password on my phone, my mom would demand to know it and if i changed it or refused to tell her i'd never hear the end of it

Same thing happened to me, #3. Some parents don't believe their children should be allowed privacy from them.

Your parents are paranoid no offence OP

who the **** are those 8 year olds going to be calling? seriously If you give your child a smartphone (i can deal with flip phones) and they aren't mature/old enough to have any privacy your a bad parent. avoiding creeps should be taught way earlier then 1st phone. have u been are the internet?.... ok clearly u have so have u been on YouTub?

ok maybe my wording wasn't great nor did i explain correctly. first off smart phone and flip phones do have a difference, main one being one is something kids think are toys now. What i meant with the internet thing is that kids are exposed to the internet at a young age now, they learn how to stay way from creepers by necessity and parents actually doing what they should teaching them. What i meant with the trust is if u don't trust them with privacy at all to the point where u automatically assume he/she was sexting yet they have a phone, I'm sorry but thats terrible parenting. Also of course parents have the right legally, i never said anything about it being illegal. I'm not against searches as a whole, I'm saying if something is deleted or missing and you instantly assume the worse you clearly have no trust and shouldn't have given him/her a phone, email, ect in the first god damn place. Also don't argue science with me, i know about the human biology, such as kids and adults literally see things differently.

Ha, I had my phone taken away for a year whenever I tried to say that.

You know, it is possible to delete single text form the conversations. That way, you can both sext your gf and keep your parents happilly in the dark, OP ;)
