Today, I backed out of prom, i never really wanted to go in the first place but I said yes because she was my friend, after I backed out , I was told by her fuming friend that I'm a dick who has no idea what I just did. Turns out she had a date, The Kid at our school who just died from cancer FML.

Im trying to understand this. I think you are trying to say Today, I backed out of prom. I never really wanted to go, but I said yes because she was my friend. After I backed out, I was told by her fuming friend that I was an insensitive dick. Turns out she had a date previously that had fallen through, a date with the kid at our school who just died from cancer. FML I don't know. I cut out extra stuff because I don't know if its going to make the 300 character limit, and added stuff to help it make sense. Maybe also saying how long before prom you backed out might improve it as well.
