Today, my 7-year-old used the word "crap". When I told her that she mustn't use that word because it's rude, she simply replied, "Mother, you should hear the words I use at school." FML

Teach her to say weird things. Like: "Holy hand socks!" "Oh, potato!" (Potato is always the answer on the internet). "Well, ain't that a load of pickles?" "Well, politics..." We need more spontaneous weird people. Warning: she may make fun of you or be made fun of at school.

When I was her age, I thought sticking out your tongue is like saying the word "*****" or "bitch"

I work with 8 year olds and they always come tell me "Ms. Teacup! John said the s-word!! Ya know.. Shuhh. Shhh up!" lol

I work with six year olds. When someone tells me someone said the "s-word," it usually just means the kid said shit. I teach in an interesting school.

Show it anyway

Captain obvious, we all know you were third.

Maybe the teacher doesn't hear every single conversation that OP's kid has? There's always time at recess

Those are actually quite good! Might start using them myself :P

I use words similiar to "Well, katniss" "HADOOSKI!" (I don't know why) "Well then" "Whelp!"

"Frick frack" "Whaggle" "Where am I" "Pie" "Frogs" "Czechoslovakia" "Austria" "Poland" Oh, I'm sorry... I didn't mean to start reading off my to-do list. You did nazi anything...

School is where I learnt the coarse language. Ain't we all do?

I'm wondering why the teacher hasn't contacted you. If what she's saying is really inappropriate, the teacher has an obligation to let you know so you can correct the problem at home. Unless the teacher is unaware, in which case he/she is not paying enough attention to the kids they teach.

If it was in the playground the teacher might well not be aware of it. If the kids know they're naughty words and they shouldn't say them, they're probably doing it when teachers aren't within earshot i.e. when it's break time.

It's possible she uses bad words behind the teacher's back, ie in recess etc.

Yeah, I learned and used plenty of not-so-appropriate language at school, but not around teachers or my parents (at least not intentionally). While I can understand your surprise, especially if your daughter is only seven, I think you should appreciate her honesty some. I'm almost 25 and I still wouldn't feel comfortable discussing some of the language and things I use among friends with my parents, particularly not my mother.

I was always too afraid I would get caught to use that language. My mother would have beat me with a sock full of butter.

Wow, when i was 7 I didn't even say "stupid" because it was inappropriate lol

I like the fact that she calls you "mother" all while acknowledging that she is foul-mouthed.
