Today, I was on the London underground. My feet were aching, so I really wanted a seat. A mother and child got off the train and I heard her say, 'why didn't you wait?' Going to sit down I wondered what he was supposed to wait for, then proceeded to sit in his (still warm) piss. FML

I have to say, you didn't see the water on the seat? I would think the light would reflect of it, so the seat would be shiny (if it was a hard surface at least) If it was something like a pillow .. you couldn't tell if it already was a dark color to begin with . . .

Wouldn't you be able to see it before you sit down? I haven't been on the London Underground in a while, but aren't the seats plastic? Even if they're upholstery, you should be able to see a dark patch.

I also take the train to work, and once I saw a homeless guy pee in his seat and the pee trickled down the train isle... from hence forth by habit I usually touch the seat with my hand before sitting down. I'd rather my hand stink of pee than have a huge pee stain on my butt from pee that's not even my own...
all these stories of people sitting in piss on trains and busses. why does nobody ever think to check the seat?! and what is with parents not telling there kids to go before they leave or ask every now and then. There is no excuse. YDI but FYL as well

where i live, the bus seats are dark navy blue and patterned so passengers can't tell how dirty they are. it's nearly impossible to tell if there was something spilled unless you actually sit on it. FYL.
If any of you remember. I posted pretty much the same thing that happened to me except I was on the bus.

ah, the joys of the London Underground, a perennial problem for us Brits. It does suck though: the dirtiest my fingernails have ever been is on the London Underground; it's noisy, it's dirty, you get pee on the seats sometimes (as shown by the OP, for whom i have the utmost sympathy), why, the London Underground should have its own FML saying:
"Today, I realised I'm the London Underground. FML."
OP: hope you're all dry and odourless now. You have my sympathy.
