The difference with the sleeping pills was OP could not give her consent. Consent would be shown with body language such as waking up and enjoying it. Please supply your own imagination in this scenario. However, with sleeping pills, OP could not wake up and enjoy the experience. Her bf wanted her to remain asleep while he had sex with her.
Obviously, OP was enjoying it because she woke up and said, "oh, this is so romantic." The twist is that bf did not plan on her waking up. He did not intend for her to give consent. Even though she would have and was giving consent in this instance, his INTENT was to violate her while she slept. This is why everyone is calling him a rapist.
Many, many, many people have proven you wrong. You are just that stupid that you can't understand what is acceptable behavior between people.
Furthermore, there is no difference between raping a total stranger on a date when they're sleeping or a raping a girl/boyfriend while they're sleeping. The relationship is not the issue. The issue is whether the person consented.

I have an interesting statement:
1. I would love if my man started foreplay while I was asleep. He's tried but I always wake up when he's above me. Conclusion:
a. Sex with a sleeping partner as a fantasy is normal, and fun, so long as it was established beforehand that it was okay between the partners.
b. It is wrong to assume that the sleeping pills were related to the sex. If so, he would watch to ensure she took them.
c. It is a vital part of this situation to hear more than 300 characters. An explanation from both sides are needed to determine whether he is a rapist or not.
d. The lack of characters allowed per post could have caused a lack of information or details that could clarify a lot of things.
