Today, I was about to have sex with my boyfriend for the first time. As things got heated, he broke down crying. I assumed it was just anxiety so I hugged him and told him it's alright and that it didn't matter, we'd try another time. Half an hour later, he confessed that he's actually gay. FML

just be supportive. you may be the first person he's told.

FYL, but F his life too. It does suck that your relationship's essentially over, but if you care about him, try to do your best to support him. It sounds like he's either fighting with it, or has kept it in. I hope things work out for both of you OP!

He was probably in denial about who he is and was hoping that dating a girl would "fix" him. He'll be a lot happier once he accepts it.

I think he figured it out during their relationship.

Maybe because of the the fact there's still a surprisingly large number of people in this country who think that homosexuality is wrong/just a phase and teach their children as much without even stopping to think they might be gay. It's possible he was trying to force himself to be straight in order not to disappoint parents that wouldn't support him if he wasn't

Pray the gay away with him. Good bonding time

Since it is Cyprus, him dating a girl even though he's gay, will have a lot to do with the culture. Church has a pretty big say and it's all about appearances down here

I don't want to sound like an uptight douche, #1, but you really found this funny? A man finally his homosexuality to his girlfriend (now ex), of which he's been in denial, is kind of a serious thing. This situation warrants support, not ridicule.

I think #1 commented on the wrong post.

#44, on an unrelated note, I read your entire comment in stewie's voice because of your profile pic. Just wanted to share that

Your initial reaction shows that you are a caring and kind person. You rock :) Don't let it upset you. I hope you can still be friends with the guy and that you find somebody soon

just be supportive. you may be the first person he's told.

I agree with #2 analysing the scene, I believe he really needs emotional support right now n it would be great if you could provide him that since he has trusted you (n the fact he dated you too) if everything goes right, you'll gain the coolest guy best friend like I did in a similar situation (:

You're an ass and a disgrace. Go fix yourself, moron.

it sucks that your boyfriend is gay, but try not to be too down about it, you may be the first he's told and he'll need the support

people down voted the guy for asking a question, wtf. some people on here are real pricks.

Just be supportive pl are, I know from experience that being closeted is very rough and then the courage to come out takes a lot of strength. So I ask that you support him.

Don't worry, you may have lost your boyfriend, but you've probably gained a best friend.

Just let him know you're still there for him. and hey, having a gay friend is always fun!!
