Today, I skipped class. I had never done it before, so I was a little nervous, but it was on my bucket list so I gave it a shot. Later, I found out that the professor cancelled class within the first five minutes. Everyone who showed was given extra credit. FML

OP here -- I'm a straight A student with a 4.0 GPA. I have my tuition paid for at the college of my dreams. My parents were extremely strict, so skipping class was never an option -- unless I was practically dying, I was going. So yeah, skipping a class was on my bucket list. As you can tell, it didn't work out so well.

He could've given a surprise exam instead. I'd say you got off pretty lucky.

Ah, as a notorious skipper, let me tell you, it never pays off. You had extra bad luck though haha. Anyway, don't corrupt your own work ethic, skipping classes becomes a nasty habit quite quickly and it can seriously mess with your education schedule. And since you never spend the time completely guilt-free anyway it's really not worth it. Now you know, though, and that's what bucket lists are for, too. :)

I would argue it worked out extremely well for you. The professor clearly didn't introduce anything new or key, you weren't the only one gone and if, you are a good student, you won't need the extra credit. Hope you made the most of your time off!

I've skipped class numerous times before, but that is definitely something that was never on my 'bucket list'. Why it would be on anyone's 'bucket list' I'll never know. Karma sucks huh?
