Today, at work, the chest freezer was accidentally turned off. I work at a vet and the freezer is our morgue. It got opened before anyone realized the contents had thawed. FML

Today, I discovered that my freezer had died when I saw the contents oozing out the bottom. The now-full trash can won't be picked up for another 6 days, and the high temperatures are supposed to be in the 100s all week. FML

Today, my wife was painting in the garage when she unplugged a random plug to charge her stupid, smelly vape without thinking about what it was she was unplugging. It was the large chest freezer. About £500 in meat and the entire bottom tier of our wedding cake defrosted and ruined. FML

Today, while washing the dishes at work I was told to go put some things into the big freezer at the back of the store. While doing so, the door closed behind me, so naturally I pushed it, only to have my wet hands freeze to the door. I yelled to my manager for 10 minutes before help came. FML

Today, in a fit of jealousy, my 10 year-old unplugged my freezer and lifted the lid before bed. It’s over 80°F in my garage. Now, my entire supply of breast milk is destroyed. Not only do I not have enough stored to feed my own baby, I was also donating to local hospitals. FML

Today, I learned how to make my fridge colder. I felt that what it was set on felt a little warmer than normal, so I turned it down. Now everything in my fridge is frozen. FML

I work at a vet clinic as well and our deep freeze is the morgue. It smells like death as is. I can only imagine what it'd smell like unthawed.

I work at an animal control facility that also deals with roadkill. That happened to the freezer we had specifically for skunks. It was horrible.

When I was going to school to be an animal health tech, there was a deep freeze in our classroom filled with corpses for dissection. One day there was a funky smell in the classroom, but the instructor thought it was the garbage, until after class. She opened the freezer, which happened to be next to my table I was leaving, and needless to say, it hadn't been working for a while. They took the whole thing to the dump and febreezed the room and hallway.
