Today, my date refused to pay for my dinner, even though he promised to beforehand. It turns out, he assumed I would just be ordering a salad for dinner, "based on your slim figure". FML

Today, I had a date at a formal restaurant I'm well known at. My date showed up two and a half hours late with a jogging suit on, and then got mad at me for ordering, eating, and paying without him. FML

Today, I was out on a dinner date when suddenly a girl walks up to us and says to my date, "Girl, you can do so much better." Hearing this, my date looks at me, nods, gets up and walks off. I still had to pay for everything. FML

Unless you ordered something much more expensive this is ridiculous. If everything on the menu was $15-20 and you ordered the one $90 item this would be fair, but expecting you to order a salad is just insane.

This was the very best comment so far! It’s not unreasonable to expect your date to order a similarly priced entree as their host. For example if the guy ordered a hamburger and his date ordered a lobster he has reason to complain. But to expect your date to just order a small salad is ridiculous. And, by the way, most meal type salads cost about the same as a regular entree in many restaurants.
