Today, while borrowing my girlfriend's dad's truck, I had to pay $120 to prevent it from being towed. I was parked right in front of my apartment unloading heavy furniture into my garage for not even 20 minutes while the apartment manager, who called the tow truck, watched us from his balcony. FML

That's bullshit you should report his ass to the owners and unless it said no parking or tow zone he can't have you towed and in most state's your allowed a certain amount of time for unloading by law I'd file a refund complaint as well 😤

Couldn't you just drive it away? Tow truck can't do anything until they're actually latched onto the vehicle. If you were in the garage you would have seen it coming.

Yeah I doubt he could get a refund from the tow company, but if the manager goofed, OP shouldn't have to pay. Maybe he could file a complaint with the leasing agency (or whoever employs the manager) to get them to cover the cost.
