Today, I'm on vacation. I spent $4000 to surprise my boyfriend on a trip to Hawaii. We have been together over a year. Turns out, he hates the outdoors. He's mad at me for bringing him here and is upset at everything. He's in the room reading, I'm at the bar drinking $10 Mai Tai's. FML

He seems like a jerk...any normal person would at least try to enjoy themselves when the significant other put in that much effort. Sorry, that sucks! On the upside you are in Hawaii!

Hmmm... this is sad. You kinda should have known he hates the outdoors if you've been dating for a year. Still... that's a lot of money to spend on an unappreciative guy. Both FML and YDI to some extent.

Im guessing he would rather be playing world of warcraft of something, or making friends with people he doesn't know on myspace, facebook and twitter. Either way he definitely sounds like a great guy that anyone would love to spend the rest of their life with.

Dicks like you are exactly why people who like to be inside are "unsociable, ungrateful bastards". So what if we like to read a lot or play games in a warm, sheltered and safe environment? You have your hobbies, we have ours. Oh, and also, making friends with people you don't know sounds like a very social thing to do to me.

How do you not know he doesn't like the outdoors when you've been together a year? That's a hell of a lot of money to spend on someone though. I'm sure there's stuff you can do indoors in Hawaii, you just haven't discovered it yet. (;
