Man or woman?

Today, I sent a get well card to my friend. it wasn't until after I got home from posting it did I realise that the stamps I put on the envelope had the phrase "Let's Get Active" on them with drawings of people playing sports. My friend is in a wheelchair. FML

I agree, your life sucks (13182) - you totally deserved it (6588)

Oh my God.

Really? Is it really an oh my god situation?

I really doubt they'll look at the stamp. Who does?

#8 - On 11/14/2009 at 9:01pm by applebranch

I know! not an fml unless the OP caused the friend to be in the wheelchair.

#17 - On 11/14/2009 at 9:34pm by silvermoonstar3

Maybe the guy is in a wheelchair because of a sport?

#19 - On 11/14/2009 at 9:40pm by 8trickster8

Please tell me this is sarcasm?

OMG! The stamp! Must protect injured people from emotional trauma caused by stamps!!!

#30 - On 11/14/2009 at 11:01pm by spiffles

Wow dude that sucks.....hopefully he didn't notice but I highly doubt that so ur screwed and ur friend might run u over with his wheel chair and then give u a card saying the same thing while he eats cheese-it's!

#43 - On 11/15/2009 at 1:51am by FOOFIGHTERSrock

i know, right? like someone is going to look at the stamp and be offended. unless the person is a stamp aficionado, don't think we have an fml here.

#50 - On 11/15/2009 at 1:20pm by shamille

ur awesome! what a friend

#2 - On 11/14/2009 at 8:43pm by SlapMeSilly

I can't tell if you're happy that they care that they might've hurt their friends feelings or being sarcastic.

#34 - On 11/14/2009 at 11:30pm by chinCHILLaout

Don't try to be over thoughtful. Nobody really cares what stamps you got there. What's inside the envelope is that matters.

#36 - On 11/14/2009 at 11:44pm by wtfwts

I don't think your friend is gonna notice the stamp.

#3 - On 11/14/2009 at 8:44pm by Luckster

LMFAOOO , thats BAD D:
But that is also funny as hell !

#4 - On 11/14/2009 at 8:45pm by SykoOne

Soooo people in wheelchairs can't be active?

#5 - On 11/14/2009 at 8:46pm by shaister

Yeah, there are handicapped people who are totally buffed out.

#6 - On 11/14/2009 at 8:53pm by LeeIsAwesome

I know. Just look at Joe Swanson.

#7 - On 11/14/2009 at 8:54pm by Squadoosh

It's a "get well" card though. Think about it a little bit. The person in the wheelchair was probably injured recently and it's a bit of a slap in the face if he notices it.

If not, and they've been in a wheelchair their whole life, or the majority, it's not as bad as the OP is making it out to be.

I'm going with the first though.

#9 - On 11/14/2009 at 9:02pm by redbluegreen

except lets GET active means you want them to get active and recover? motivational stamps go figure

#22 - On 11/14/2009 at 9:52pm by MagicMeds

epic fail

#10 - On 11/14/2009 at 9:03pm by choicefresh

I agree w/ Luckster.., she/he will be more touched with the card to pay any mind to the stamp. nice gesture tho :)

#11 - On 11/14/2009 at 9:06pm by LevyLove

Stupid...dumbest FML EVER!

#12 - On 11/14/2009 at 9:09pm by Erindub

Reminds me of when I was making things for some of the foster kids and some at the local orphanage. I made a colouring in book, a teddy and some bracelets. It was only after everything had been given away that I realised some pages in the colouring book had the slogan "Where families get going". Whoops.

#13 - On 11/14/2009 at 9:14pm by PandaPandaPandaX

You're dumb and all, but do you think that people in wheel chairs can't be active too? It isn't as if a wheelchair makes someone an invalid.

#14 - On 11/14/2009 at 9:17pm by Kylias

Not an FML. I don't think your friend will care unless they're REALLY sensitive.

#15 - On 11/14/2009 at 9:19pm by allie2590

It's okay, people in wheelchairs can play sports! Haven't you heard of that new sport called skatechairing? Or something like that… well anyways it's like skateboarding but in a wheelchair and it's pretty cool.

#16 - On 11/14/2009 at 9:25pm by fringle

its a stamp. hopefully she doesnt notice. the get well card will distract her :)

#18 - On 11/14/2009 at 9:37pm by jessxoxo28

did you sen the ard because they were in a wheelchair?

#20 - On 11/14/2009 at 9:42pm by IceCream53423

Haha, don't worry, (s)he probably won't think anything of it.

#21 - On 11/14/2009 at 9:43pm by DameGreyWulf

OMG, is that you Victoria?!!!

#42 - On 11/15/2009 at 3:40am by hijueputa

You know people in wheelchairs don't ALWAYS think that everyone is out to get them. Most of them are very understanding. They aren't stupid.

#23 - On 11/14/2009 at 10:08pm by saviisneat

This isnt an FML moment you dumbass. It's a friggen stamp. handicapped can play sports to you stupid shit.

#24 - On 11/14/2009 at 10:11pm by grrrarrrg2

Well, if your friend is not depending on the wheelchair for the remaining of his/her life, I guess it's not that bad. After all, he/she will recover eventually and I guess you can say that the pictures are a way of saying "Let's play sports together after you get better".

#25 - On 11/14/2009 at 10:15pm by 5upernova

Who the fuck notices stamps ? You rip open the envelope and throw it away to get the card inside.. Not an FML.

#26 - On 11/14/2009 at 10:18pm by onyxindigo

ok, stamps change all the freaking time. if i had been you and noticed that, i would have felt bad for a half second and then remember its a stupid stamp. its not like this one is anything special. just go with everyone else about its the card thats important, not the stupid 42 cents it takes to send it

#27 - On 11/14/2009 at 10:34pm by honestlover

Not a big deal. Nobody looks at the stamp when they're opening a card, usually they just rip it open to get to what's inside. And honestly, it's not like he's this huge ass who is all bitter about what caused him to be in a wheelchair, and if he is, that sucks.
But still, it's a freaking stamp, he's not going to take it the wrong way.
Not an FML.

#28 - On 11/14/2009 at 10:37pm by heyyimkell

#24

#29 - On 11/14/2009 at 10:49pm by KiddNYC10

He probably won't even notice. And if he does, I'm sure he won't think that you noticed, or did it on purpose.

#31 - On 11/14/2009 at 11:21pm by teiso

I don't think it's going to be a big deal.

#32 - On 11/14/2009 at 11:21pm by darryaz

Well, it's good that you're concerned for your friends feelings, but I doubt he will notice. And if (s)he does, they probably won't care. Not an FML. A slight screw up, but not that bad.

#33 - On 11/14/2009 at 11:27pm by chinCHILLaout

people can play sports if they are disabled jackass

#35 - On 11/14/2009 at 11:39pm by Dieromantic85

OH NO YOU DIDN'T *POINT*

#37 - On 11/14/2009 at 11:48pm by WorkThatButt

What did you expect would happen; your friend will recieve the letter, notice the stamp and cry because he may never be able to "get active" agian? Grow up, you oversensative twat. It's the thought that counts.

#38 - On 11/15/2009 at 12:05am by Dmitrov

Who really looks at stamps? I almost never do unless they're bright and designed to attract my attention. Even then, I usually don't pay them much attention

#39 - On 11/15/2009 at 12:28am by catastrophicsock

wow... I moderated this one. how the hell did it get past?

#40 - On 11/15/2009 at 12:44am by halowarz25

#41 - On 11/15/2009 at 1:44am by karizzy6

Wtf is wrong with this website? Did anyone notice?

#44 - On 11/15/2009 at 4:27am by chellinha93

That all of the comments are messed up? Yeah it's weird...

#45 - On 11/15/2009 at 5:01am by PandaPandaPandaX

Dude, if your friend has even the slightest sense of humour (which most wheelchair-bound people I have known have had), they won't be offended AT ALL

#46 - On 11/15/2009 at 8:00am by smackieonassis

reminds me of the time i gave my friend a present... she had gotten shot in the head and partially paralyzed and was in a wheelchair, going to therapy to try to walk again, and had a party to celebrate that she could shuffle around about 20 feet with a walker. in any case she loves collecting shells and i found a door stopper that had a poem aboout collecting shells on it, and it wasnt until she was reading it out loud that i realized it started out with "i love to walk on the beach..."

>.

#47 - On 11/15/2009 at 9:01am by cocoapuffshooter

Meh! If the op's friend is not completely paralyzed, I don't see a problem in sending by mistake a stamp that roots for sport. And even if the friend is indeed fully paralyzed, it's not like the op did it on purpose.

#48 - On 11/15/2009 at 9:11am by DotDootyDot

Im paralyzed and im more active then 90% of my friends.

#49 - On 11/15/2009 at 12:05pm by ConfederateRokr

Crippled people generally don't sit around looking for things to get offended about. If he gets angry or hurt about something like that he's a jackass.

#51 - On 11/15/2009 at 1:44pm by NumberZine

epic fail xd

#52 - On 11/15/2009 at 2:41pm by thefmlmo

The stamps? Who the fuck cares?

#53 - On 11/15/2009 at 8:14pm by ragsy

just because a person is in a wheel chair doesn't mean they can't be active. they can do everything we can do with our legs, just in a different manner.

#54 - On 11/15/2009 at 8:18pm by fuckingshitt343

who looks at the stamp?

#55 - On 11/15/2009 at 8:28pm by couny343

It's a stamp. I think his tears of utter sadness will cease after a couple days.

#56 - On 11/16/2009 at 1:21am by MiniatureMayhem

this is win for lulz :D

#57 - On 11/16/2009 at 2:14am by keres

Just because he is in a wheelchair doesn't mean he can't still play sports. Plus it's a stamp. Nobody cares about the stamps and we rarely have control over which ones we get.

#58 - On 11/16/2009 at 12:28pm by ObadiahtheSlim

He probably won't even notice the stamp. And even if he does, will not think you did that on purpose. Beside, why can't people in wheelchairs be active? It is impressive to see the sport they play.
