Man or woman?

Today, for my birthday, my friends and family gave me: A Wii Fit, a free year at the gym and a book of diet recipes. They didn't consult with each other. I've asked for "something corresponding to me". FML

very expensive presents for someone so ungrateful

#1 - On 11/11/2009 at 2:09pm by kerrygirl

Seriously! I'd be happy with all of that stuff, especially a free year at the gym, seeing as memberships are way expensive.

#3 - On 11/11/2009 at 2:13pm by Byah

Yeah, I totally agree with #1. You are being ungrateful

#7 - On 11/11/2009 at 2:19pm by HP_22

agree...why are you on the computer complaining about birthday presents anyway? GTFO and dont waste free gym membership..YDI

#15 - On 11/11/2009 at 2:39pm by whatevaaaa

SERIOUSLY. I pay every month to get to go to a gym. And would KILL for a wii and wii-fit. There are so many ridiculously awesome games designed around getting your heart pumping. My cousin uses Wii and the work out games and has visibily lost weight. She does it every morning and says its fun because she feels like shes either just playing a game or working with a trainer.

To the other commenters: Think about it. The OP is probably very over-weight. Or at least moderately. Enough for her friends and family to feel some concern individually... So their idea of a good gift is probably as far away from physical activity as possible. I had a friend who HATED doing physical activity. I mean we would go out to the beach and park so we could walk around and enjoy the day (we weren't going swimming...) and the whole time she complained about how far we had to walk. It was like seriously? It's an extra 4 blocks. This person is the type who prefers being on the computer and who's idea of socializing is sitting around watching TV. It's sad too, cause these types of people don't realize the benefits to being active that have nothing to do with level of fitness. You're happier when you move around, you experience more, and it helps with social skills.

Sigh. Sad...

#39 - On 11/11/2009 at 3:50pm by MonkeySpeaks

Totally! And if you asked for gifts corresponding to you, then maybe they just thought that you are interested in being healthy, not that you NEED to lose weight. I would love for someone to give me those gifts. Be grateful that you have such awesome friends who obviously care about you.

#74 - On 11/11/2009 at 7:42pm by rx0829

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that thinks the OP is being ungrateful! I'm not overweight and I would LOVE to receive those things!

#78 - On 11/11/2009 at 9:19pm by imperfectclarity

#1 'nuff said
Then again I wonder...what corresponds to an ungrateful overweight princess with high self esteem issues?

What, they actually care enough to get you those things and you're here complaining about it?
Gtfo the internet and hit the gym, fatty.

#8 - On 11/11/2009 at 2:22pm by Atamix

maybe they think you like to work out go the health route instead of that your fat. relax they seem to be real friends to spend that much money!!! you dont spend that much money to hurt someone!

#9 - On 11/11/2009 at 2:22pm by bittersweetheart

YDI for being an ungrateful bitch.

#10 - On 11/11/2009 at 2:27pm by deaditegirl

YDI for being vague and ungrateful

#11 - On 11/11/2009 at 2:31pm by sjbartholome

"something corresponding to me"? That doesn't make sense.

#12 - On 11/11/2009 at 2:33pm by BigK_Diet_Cola

You are ungrateful and fat. YDI

#13 - On 11/11/2009 at 2:34pm by lostfaithinpppl

Be thankful. Going to the gym is fun. Atleast I think so.

#14 - On 11/11/2009 at 2:38pm by ericalew_xo

Not if you're a fattie!

If you are ripped, every glance in the mirror is a pleasure. Otherwise, all those new angles with which you see your belly or your ass can be quite horrifying.

#21 - On 11/11/2009 at 3:03pm by perdix

wow, be grateful, you have extremely generous friends! and they obviously care about you, if they didn't they wouldn't care about your weight and health (and no, im not saying the OP is fat, but you don't have to be fat to be unhealthy)

#16 - On 11/11/2009 at 2:42pm by damnrosi

um yea.....if you're thin you are healthy. The only case I can think of where it's not is Anorexia and Bulimia, otherwise, it IS healthy. There can be lack of muscle, but I doubt that. If you're thin, you're healthy.

#44 - On 11/11/2009 at 4:21pm by scateice

Wow biggest load of shit I've ever head. Just because you're thin does not mean you are healthy. Like you said, people who weigh 80 freaking pounds because they have an eating disorder are NOT healthy. But they're thin. People who starve themselves for weeks and weeks may be thin but they're not healthy. Weighing 100 pounds and having your ribs stick out is not healthy. And on the other end, football players who weigh over 300 pounds ARE healthy because all of that is muscle. You can't really judge someone based on their weight, just because they weigh a lot does not mean they're fat, and just because they're thin doesn't mean they're healthy. Someone once tried to tell me 127 pounds was fat. WTF is wrong with people these days.

#45 - On 11/11/2009 at 4:33pm by Tarynkd

To scateice: Can I have a picture of your face to submit to FailBlog? :]

#49 - On 11/11/2009 at 4:55pm by Laurasian

WIN x100 LMAO

#97 - On 11/12/2009 at 6:33pm by youfaililaugh

don't complain, get off your butt and lose weight. if all those people think you should most likely you need to.

#17 - On 11/11/2009 at 2:44pm by hXcsoccerplaya

I'd be STOKED to get Wii Fit! But then again, I'm not a fatty, let alone one in denial about their weight.

I agree with #14. Going to the gym is FUN, provided you know what you're doing and you have a goal in mind. Like losing weight or just making sure you're in good shape. There's nothing like a kick ass music mix to get you through running 5 miles!

#18 - On 11/11/2009 at 2:44pm by avoidthegirl

YDI I mean... Wii fits are awsome!!

#19 - On 11/11/2009 at 2:59pm by Houndourpup

Today, for my birthday my parents got me an 16 GB iPhone 3GS, BUT I WANTED THE 32GB!@#$%^&*

I understand your family thinks your fat and you're upset, but seriously, it's a Wii fit. You can actually have fun losing weight.

#20 - On 11/11/2009 at 3:01pm by RyanRaygun

The problem isn't on their end.

#22 - On 11/11/2009 at 3:07pm by cthulhu1138

I agree with #22. YOUR problems are
1. you let yourself get (obviously) out of shape;
2. don't want to face reality; and
3. would prefer to blame someone other than yourself.

Be grateful you've got friends who are supportive.

#29 - On 11/11/2009 at 3:24pm by SmittyJA24

If my friends even bothered to remember my birthday...

#23 - On 11/11/2009 at 3:10pm by Tozi

Are you related to the little preteen (oh no, I'm being told she is in fact 13) a couple of FMLs ago, by any chance? Cause you certainly are just as ungrateful.

#24 - On 11/11/2009 at 3:13pm by repyourcliche

I'm surprised no one bought you a mirror . . . or a scale.

#25 - On 11/11/2009 at 3:17pm by perdix

hahaha... i agree because you clearly deserve those for being ungrateful!
you got a wii fit and you're complaining... seriously!
not to mention u asked for it with the "something correspondong to me" bullshit!

#68 - On 11/11/2009 at 6:42pm by lebrockshard

Take the hint, tubby.

#26 - On 11/11/2009 at 3:20pm by ogloc

well, take a hint. not trying to be a bitch or anything but if they r encouraging u to lose weight with these expensive gifts, then try. its only gonna help u.

#27 - On 11/11/2009 at 3:20pm by jessxoxo28

YDI for being fat

#28 - On 11/11/2009 at 3:20pm by scullion44

Agree,fat people are annoying

#48 - On 11/11/2009 at 4:49pm by UselessName

YDI, you know how much they spent on those gifts?? Chances are you probably have talked about wanting to lose weight. Better put those gifts to good use.

#30 - On 11/11/2009 at 3:28pm by apparations

Wah wah wah you're fat and everyone knows it. How about instead of crying about it, you do something to change it. Notice your friends are worried about your health, you should be grateful at least they care about something you don't.

#31 - On 11/11/2009 at 3:30pm by ultraslick

ya, ditto to what #4 said

#32 - On 11/11/2009 at 3:35pm by Gitsandshiggles

A year-worth of membership in a gym?!? It can cost over 400$ you know.
You have one of those rare friends that will actually spend that much money because he cares about your health, and you find a way to complain?

YDI, and also you don't deserve having friends like that.

#33 - On 11/11/2009 at 3:38pm by BasuKun

For real. I wish somebody would give me a year membership to a good gym! Oh, and for all you reading this, this is an open invitation to get me one.

Listen, OP. The Gym is a great place to relieve stress, feel good about your accomplishments, and get in shape. I don't know whether you're fat or not, but I've noticed a lot of posters on this site complain about being fat. Go to the gym, once you're there, you can talk to other people there and I'm sure someone will be willing to help you out getting a decent workout plan going. The hardest part to getting in shape (as well as staying in shape) is getting TO the gym. Once you're there, more then half the battle is won.

Oh, and I'll take that book on dieting recipes. I can't cook for shit and that would help my abs poke through!

#59 - On 11/11/2009 at 5:29pm by SFMember

Don't whine, it's called "Appreciation."
Say thank you. Be polite. :)

#34 - On 11/11/2009 at 3:39pm by mastershinigami

It seems to me that your friends and family really care about you and want you to be/stay healthy. That's not an FML.

#35 - On 11/11/2009 at 3:42pm by suesblues

Take your fat ass to the gym and then cook me dinner while i play your WII you ungrateful bitch

#36 - On 11/11/2009 at 3:45pm by donkey_hang_down

Shut up and be thankful you have people who care about you and your health. I'm not overweight and I would love all of those gifts. Stop whining.

#37 - On 11/11/2009 at 3:45pm by nuthinleft2lose

Shit. I'm fat (just had a baby 3 months ago- C-Section), and I'd LOVE those gifts.I was going to the gym last year before I got pregnant, trying to get my fat ass into shape, and I loved it. I had to quit because my OB didn't want me doing intense exersises. I just picked up walking instead. As soon as I feel up to it, I have a free month pass to 2 different gyms, and I can volunteer in the child minding area at my old gym and earn my membership. I've got lots of time. I'm a stay at home mom.

Anyway, you're lucky! Don't complain. Use them. It's not like your friends are telling you something you didn't already know (at least I hope not... I mean... I don't need anyone telling ME that I'm fat... I already know it...)....

They just want you to live longer... keep you around, you know?

#38 - On 11/11/2009 at 3:47pm by ZuraLasgeon

Somebody isn't seeing the signs.

#40 - On 11/11/2009 at 4:00pm by samisbamming

I agree with everyone who calls you ungrateful, OP; those gifts are good things that you should be using --not complaining about.

And, obviously, you need those things if the individuals didn't consult each other. Get a clue!

#41 - On 11/11/2009 at 4:13pm by Hell_Kaht

sooo

#42 - On 11/11/2009 at 4:16pm by KiddNYC10

Thank you #12, I was more focused on her improper use of "correspond" than her weight.

#43 - On 11/11/2009 at 4:19pm by linaaa0no

lmao,ur comment is funnier then the FML. Lol

#47 - On 11/11/2009 at 4:47pm by UselessName

YDI. You phrased that wrong. Next year, say: "Something that I would enjoy." Then, you won't necessarily get weight loss shit, but something you're gonna be happy with.

But anyway, you might as well take advantage of your gifts, fat ass :)

#50 - On 11/11/2009 at 5:00pm by Avenging_Angel

Did the person SAY they were ungrateful for the presents? No. It's obviously just a little
bit of an unpleasant feeling to receive presents suggesting that you lose weight. FML isn't
about criticizing other peoples FML's. Just read the FML and think to yourself 'Hmm.. that
does stink. Glad it's not me' and then go on your merry way. Besides look at the rest of you guys,
wasting your life criticizing other people's FML's. Awesome life.

#51 - On 11/11/2009 at 5:03pm by soccer8181

Oh, then if we can't comment FMLs anymore, then why not disable the comments section at all?

#96 - On 11/12/2009 at 3:44pm by BasuKun

People put FML's on here to vent and because they're funny. Not to have people call them
fat or say why they should be happy with their life. Nobody knows them or knows what's going
on with their life. So don't be jerks and tell them what they are doing wrong.

#98 - On 11/12/2009 at 7:15pm by soccer8181

I see your point, but the fact is still that her friends spent so much money on gifts and the OP decides to post this on FML. You have to admit it's pretty ungrateful.

#101 - On 11/13/2009 at 1:32pm by BasuKun

she never said she was ungrateful, it just stings a little to be called fat. especially over again by a million comments when you are trying to vent.

#103 - On 11/15/2009 at 4:27pm by soccer8181

It's almost like they're trying to say something...And I think you think that something lies in another McDonald bag.

#52 - On 11/11/2009 at 5:07pm by shaister

Ok before you fly off into an offended tizzy, I'm willing to bet they all got you those presents because you have at least *mentioned* wanting to diet/get more fit/lose weight/any variation on this theme. I don't believe that not one, but THREE friends and family members would (on your birthday no less!) take the time to drop such expensive and potentially hurtful hints unless you prompted them somehow. I'm sure they think they are giving you exactly what you wanted, this is not some conspiracy plot to hurt your feelings or call you a lard-ass.

#53 - On 11/11/2009 at 5:11pm by anjyu22

Fat bitch would you rather have a box of Twinkies?

#54 - On 11/11/2009 at 5:13pm by donkey_hang_down

You ate FML'ing about this? At least you got presents and people that love you enough to celebrate your birth and life! Did you at all think that maybe they did this because they want to keep celebrating it for years to come?

#55 - On 11/11/2009 at 5:18pm by exquisite

oy.. ate = are and ps I'll take the Wii Fit was going to buy myself one for Christmas ...

#56 - On 11/11/2009 at 5:21pm by exquisite

there called hints! take em or ull get the blunt "your fat, do something about it" talk

#57 - On 11/11/2009 at 5:27pm by Starfire22

I would kill for the gym membership!! It's so much now. I would be so grateful..

#58 - On 11/11/2009 at 5:27pm by Lucky_Adi

They seem like loved ones that care about your health and happiness to me. I'm sure you know your overweight already, and now your just ungrateful.

#60 - On 11/11/2009 at 5:33pm by Ligerie

They're just trying to keep you in shape ;-)

#61 - On 11/11/2009 at 5:34pm by hydro

#62 - On 11/11/2009 at 5:45pm by zabeth

i would love to have the first 2! a healthy lifestyle doesn't hurt anyone!

FYL because you're ungrateful.

#72 - On 11/11/2009 at 7:29pm by zen_fml

Take the hint. It's not like they are being dicks about it. It's a nice and subtle way of telling someone this. They are only trying to help out. So don't complain and do something about it.

#73 - On 11/11/2009 at 7:35pm by iljajlm

fucking good presents and you'll be fit so what's the problem

#75 - On 11/11/2009 at 7:49pm by couny343

Sounds like really good stuff I would want for my birthday. Last year, only 2 of my friends remembered my birthday. What did i get? a pen and a pair of chopsticks.

#76 - On 11/11/2009 at 8:24pm by uzername007

boo fucking hoo. apparently they bought those gifts to help u get fit dumbass. quit ur whiney bullshit and get the fucking clue!

#77 - On 11/11/2009 at 8:59pm by jw90

"Waaah, my friends and family love me and want me to be healthy so they bought a lot of amazing, considerate gifts for me!"

Bitch, if you don't want them, I'll take them.

GIMME UR GYM MEMBERSHIP THEN!!! I WANT IT!!!

#83 - On 11/11/2009 at 11:39pm by rakhil11

How the hell is THAT an FML? Your friends care enough to buy you expensive shit and you whine about it. Unless it's a passive way to gloat. Either way, it should be your friends posting about how shitty a friend you are.

#84 - On 11/12/2009 at 12:27am by mistyshaiah

It sounds like very thoughtful presents. Stop whinging, you're fat, stop denying it and get in shape with their well chosen presents.

#85 - On 11/12/2009 at 12:44am by purple91

This is NOT an FML! This is a "Now I can lose all those pesky pounds without having to fork out my own cash!!"

P.S. I hope you had the decency to say a heartfelt thank you to your friends for their overwhelming concern and generosity!

#86 - On 11/12/2009 at 12:49am by caroline081287

I think they are trying to tell you something, drop the Twinkie and pick up some barbells. YDI

#87 - On 11/12/2009 at 2:02am by SarcasticAvenger

for the record, I dont think you should make this an fml until you've tried the q
wii fit. I have one and it's super fun minus pounds on top!

#88 - On 11/12/2009 at 2:36am by wambamtysam

random q. my bad.

#89 - On 11/12/2009 at 2:38am by wambamtysam

#95 - On 11/12/2009 at 12:16pm by soreness123

learn to take criticism
it'll be good for you to lose weight

#99 - On 11/13/2009 at 5:24am by lololol111

Um... is there anyone on here who isn't a complete douchebag? I bet you losers all give your moms vacuum cleaners for birthday presents and don't understand why they "aren't grateful" since they "really did need it!" It doesn't matter whether she is or is not overweight or whether those things are or are not good things to have, its about having everyone you know think you'd rather have something you need for your birthday than something you'd actually like.

#100 - On 11/13/2009 at 11:30am by aprestia

You are blessed to have family and friends who care about your well being. They want you to be healthy. Perhaps it's time to face the facts that you are obese and need to develop a healthier lifestyle. The gifts that they gave you are very nice gifts that most people struggle to pay for themselves.

#102 - On 11/14/2009 at 1:37pm by zena_baladi
