Today, my mom suspected me of doing marijuana. She went and bought a home-drug test and sent me to the bathroom. As I went in, I realized there was already pee in the toilet. I scooped that instead of my own and handed it to my mom. It came up positive. My sister used the bathroom last. She's 12. FML

I dunno. I used to smoke a lot of weed but i got sent away for other stuff and came home and came up with a false positive, i hadn't used in three months. Anyone that smokes weed knows that thc will be gone by then. Anyways she went to get another test and it came up clean. There are over the counter medications that will cause you to come up with a false positive rarely but it does happen. It's not that they have any relation to weed it's just the way it comes out in your pee.

It came back positive because of tampering and dilution. Any time you send in a sample that is mostly not pee, it will come back positive. This doesn't mean your sister smokes... Though if she does, it's probably partly your fault.

that could definitely be a false positive. I conduct drug tests at my work all the time, and if it's been a certain amount of time after the urine has left the body, it may not give the correct results and we have to get another sample. so this could be completely wrong.

The test failed because the liquid you scooped from the toilet contained toilet water AND urine. If the urine is too diluted, it's an automatic fail.
