(0)no they won't... that's lame
(0)"I was babysitting"
"I was in the kitchen raiding the fridge"
Something about this seems like YDI.
(0)EXPLANATION, heard of it?
(0)What, explain that you were merely stealing their food?
(0)Evil is the one who thinks evil. Also, the word "context" will help you ;)
(0)One question... What did you need whipped cream for while babysitting?
(0)haha that's what i was thinking LOL
(0)#5
Pumpkin pie.
(0)Yeah, it would have been easy to just say what you had been looking for. They probably didn't even care in the first place.

(0)woah there. calm down
(0)OP: Oh sorry, the bottle of wine was blocking the whipped cream
Neighbor: Okay...but what were you going to use the whipped cream for?
#9 - On 04/21/2009 at 6:56am by Bitts
(0)Actually, it's FTL... storing the wine in the fridge? WTF... don't these people read the labels?
(0)You're stupid. Plenty of Wines should be chilled when you drink them. and maybe it was the bottle of wine they were working on. and it's no big deal ad long as their kids know to stay away from it. And of course thy shouldn't have to worry about their fridge being raided. Oh and OP YDI for being a fridge raiding fatty.
(0)LOL at #5
(0)Bad fml. You could just explain yourself. There! Problem solved! tada!!
(0)Or they just think you were holding a bottle of wine to get something else?
...
(0)You could have just said nothing, set the wine aside, and got the whipped cream. But why didn't you pack your own snacks just like you would have for any other job? Not being mean, just curious.
(0)it sounds like a lose lose situation to me. either they were going to think of you as an alcoholic, or a fat ass that needs to put whipped cream on everything...
(0)5, 6
lulz
(0)Holding a bottle of wine = alcoholic? Who on earth would actually make that ridiculous leap of logic? Stupid.
(0)#10 all those restaurants getting it wrong and keeping all that wine in the fridge? It depends on the type whether it should be kept in a fridge or a cool press but dry.
(0)I wonder how the op responds when using mouth wash.
(0)#10 all those restaurants getting it wrong and keeping all that wine in the fridge? It depends on the type whether it should be kept in a fridge or a cool press but dry.
(0)Perhaps the parents said she can eaet food fromthe fridge? I have no issues with our babysitter eating.
Are the neighbors that think you drink the parents? Or do you have rude neighbors?
(0)Yeah, #7 is right, why would you not explain what was going on?
And all you morons act like you never eat whipped cream? Maybe they had ice cream or something... geez.
(0)Uh maybe if you were actually drinking the wine...
(0)#6
Lawl
Anyways, you could easily explain the situation.
(0)lmfao @ #5. That's a great point.
And I would like to point out that you were going for the whipped cream after the kids were in bed... hmm... THE PLOT THICKENS!
(0)"No, no, you don't understand! I'm not an alcoholic! I was just moving the wine to get to the nitrous ox--
whipped cream."
(0)hahaha, #26.
and why wouldn't you just put the wine back when you heard the door open?
(0)This was a stupid post I cant believe it made it on here
(0)you're neighbors need help if that's what they think, quite honestly i think you were just about to get the child drunk to do perverted things, you sick freak.
(0)This FML is beyond stupid.
(0)this story is fucking lame..
#32 - On 04/21/2009 at 11:14am by dizzzane
(0)People that drink are alcoholics then? If they think you're an alcoholic because you were holding that bottle, take a guess what they think of them self seeing as they bought the bottle!111!!11
Bullcrap story.
(0)Who cares? Get off this site!
#34 - On 04/21/2009 at 11:29am by thelonelylurker
(0)This is a terrible FML. This shouldn't have even made it to this website.
(0)why are you eating people's food when you're babysitting their kids?
(0)And then you put the bottle back and got out the whipped cream killing an assumption they probably didn't even have, and thus no longer making your life f*cked... Problem solved. Yay.
(0)at least they dont think your a fat ass for "raiding the fridge." who does that?
(0)YDI for thinking this is really an FML
the only way they actually think you are an alcoholic is if they said so, and then you could just explain yourself
plus, why are you raiding their fridge? From where i come from that's bad manners, putting it nicely
(0)#10 - Read the labels?!?!?! Huh?! Its not about reading the lables on wine. Its just common sense. Red - room temp (or 70 degrees). White is chilled. SO btw, She culd have been holding a bottle of WHITE wine. Looks like you're the jackass now. Or someone who doesn't drink wine regularly. But because you called the person out without real knowledge i'll go with jackass. It doesn't say "refridgerate after opening" on wine labels.
and to the OP: you must be young. people don't jump to the conclusion that someone is an alcoholic because they are holding a bottle of wine in a fridge. They wouldn't even think it if you had a glass in your hand. If you're underage they just think you're a teen ager who is showing irresponsible behavior (you dont drink while babysitting other peoples kids) or if you're of age they think oh she wanted wine, but couldn't she have waited until we got home?
and #39 - its not bad manners if she was already close to these people. if they are her neighbors then they could be good friends if her family. Where I COME from, if someone is like family then my house is theres and they are more than welcome to go into the fridge. NOT to mention, when you're babysitting, a lot of times the parents will inform the sitter they can "help themselves."

(0)How does holding a bottle of wine make you an alcoholic?
#41 - On 04/21/2009 at 1:45pm by Ttessorc
(0)Have you people seriously never babysat? One of the perks of babysitting is the parents generally say "help yourself to anything in the fridge/pantry". It's an unwritten rule that the parents are expected to feed you while you're there, esp. if you'll be babysitting over lunch or dinner.
(0)#2, maybe he knew the parents well and they let him use the fridge. Not a big deal.
(0)Yeah, as long as you don't gorge yourself, eating some of the family's food is almost always completely acceptable unless they tell you otherwise. And unfortunately, some parents probably wouldn't believe the OP even if he/she tried to explain.
(0)When I babysat for my neighbor, I was welcome to the fridge.
Firstly, they are not going to think youre an alcoholic just for holding a bottle of wine.
Secondly, who cares if she was getting the whipped cream? why are ppl making it sound so dirty. it's annoying. Maybe there was a pie, or ice cream, or even a pudding. or hell, maybe she just wanted a squirt of whipped cream. I've done that sometimes if i get in the mood.
Thirdly, again with the whipped cream. just b/c she's grabbing that doesnt make the OP a fatass. What if she were grabbing carrots? would she be a healthfreak then?
please.
So basically, if they rehire you, then it's obvious that they dont think you were an alcoholic, just that their fridge is cluttered.
thats all =)
(0)Why didn't you just put it back when you heard the door open?
(0)how about you just tell them that you were getting something else...
(0)yeah, i agree with every1 who says that u could have just proceeded 2 take the whipped cream out and put the wine back.
and y would it b bad 2 want some whipped cream? i eat it plain sometimes. i am not fat either. (i am under 100 lbs)
(0)Wow you people are really stupid, how the hell does holding a bottle of wine make you an alcoholic? I honestly don't think the people that walked through the door really didn't think anything until you shit your pants like a moron. Grow up, get the cream, act like a human being.
FML for reading your's.
(0)This was an absolutely horrible FML. Pretttty lame (it seems like a lot of them today have been sub par!) :(
(0)Um what were they doing coming into the house uninvited?
Then again what were you doing eating the family's food too?
(0)EXPLAIN.
#53 - On 04/21/2009 at 7:43pm by jet
(0)Blame it on the al- al- al- alchohol!
(0)Uhm....last time i checked....your supposed to lock the door when your babysitting......YDI...
#55 - On 04/21/2009 at 8:44pm by Alyssaxo3xo
(0)Sorry...but can someone tell me what YDI means?
(0)#56, you deserve it.
(0)It would probably be equally as akward if they walked in on your holding a bottle of whipped cream..
(0)wine and whipped cream, sounds like a fun night to me.
(0)Let me guess: the OP is from the US. In no other country would holding a bottle of wine be considered alcoholic behaviour.
Oh and @10, as others have already pointed out, many types of wine are refrigerated before drinking.
(0)I doubt that they would consider you to be an alcoholic.
(0)Hope it was white wine.
(0)Haha I agree with #52 on the first part...
(0)In your face!
(0)Well if they have wine just lying out in the fridge maybeeee their the drunks?
(0)how does wine turn you into an alcoholic?
#67 - On 06/06/2009 at 10:04pm by blahblahblah43
(0)Are you unable to speak, since you cant just open your mouth and fucking explain yourself? :]
(0) #67: Probably because wine has alcohol in it, genius.
(0) wow overreacting neighbors. try slowing down and explaining the situation.
