Find the 10 FMLs that were published in the fmylife book by hunting for them amongst the website’s pages, and win one of the fmylife books up for grabs.
Before explaining the rules, your mouse can already start hating us because it’s going to have to go into overdrive. Quotes from the book’s FMLs are hidden in the pages of Fmylife, and you’re going to have to find them.
Step 1: Sign up on FML and log in. This is mandatory if you want to take part in the competition. Click here to create an account. Everyone can enter the competition. No matter where you live or how old you are.
Step 2: Find the link called "FML Competition" in your member's panel on the right hand side of the site.
Step 3: Click on it (yeah OK, seems obvious, but you never know with some people).
Step 4: Follow the instructions to start the hunt. None of the members will have the quotes in the same place. To find them, use the page numbers at the bottom of the home page and… click away (and you can then start hating us). The quotes will only be in the website’s archives, nowhere else. There’s thus no point going into the Top, the Flop, the Random FMLs… All you have to do is go and look in the previous pages. Once you’ve found one of the texts, a link will allow you to update your participation.
This is how a hidden quote will look like (the size has been reduced a little voluntarily):
On the 20th of december at midnight, the competition will end. All the people who’ve found the 10 quotes will then be part of a draw, which will select the 20 winners, who will get a copy of the book. The results will be announced on the 21st. Good luck, and happy clicking to all!

They're hidden in any of the pages, and if you've looked at a page, it can't be on that one after you click away. They're random, but don't change pages.
Do I have to click on each FML to find them or will it notify me on the front page??

Whew, that was work! Instead of writing my English term paper, which is due in less than four hours, I spent an hour trying to find all of the icons. That's a FML in itself.

How you do the competition?
Ok, over on the right of your screen you see "FML Competition" in bold.
Click it.
Click the start button.
Go through the regular pages of FMLs by clicking the numbers at the bottom of each page.
Look through the FMLs. You will see a link to click when you find one.
Ohh... So when you see a little clicky-thingie on a FML that means you found one..?

Well, it seems like some of the ads that you're running bring up windows for malware in the form of trojans (pretending to scan your computer, trying to force your browser window to stay open). Thankfully I've only encountered it 3 times, of which all were on your website.
I'd suggest background checks, or maybe a higher standard for adverts? I mean, I realize it's business and sometimes hard to prevent, but ads trying to circumvent security and trick users is never a good thing.
Every tenth click or so, I would be redirected to this page:

it would begin to load the fml, load the page, and when I was about halfway done scrolling down, it would reload and morph into that, some celebrity news site. I figured it was intentional, since he said "feel free to hate us." It wasn't a big deal, just slowed me down some. I actually thought it was kind of funny

I had no problem in regards to pop-ups or security risks, sounds like an infection already on your PC

I found out when you click "Next Page" the pop-ups occur, but when you click on the page number on the left this doesn't happen. I'm guessing it has to do with ads that come from the site..

If you use Firefox, you can use an add-on to get rid of ads. But you should get rid of your virus first. Browser redirects can be NASTY.

Started my search with two tabs - one to go from the beginning, and one from the end. And of course, the last one was RIGHT in the middle :)
Actually, it wasn't that hard. All I did was scroll from top to bottom, and look for the bright yellow FML book.

I am happy to hear that I am not the only student procrastinating studying to sift through pages and pages of FML's for a slim chance to win a book that contains things I already have access to for free lol.
But there are illustrations (quite a few and they are really funny, IMO) that you can't see anywhere else but in the book. It makes a great gift too. :)
I found my first 2 with in 5 min in 2 pages... then for my last one, I apparently skipped it! I had to back track to find it. Oh well. I is done... FINALLY!!!

Login, start looking at every page (e.g., start at home page, click "next page" at the right-bottom).
Somewhere after (on average) 40 pages or so, you'll see a page where one of the FML's has
a gif of a yellow box with hat, and a link with text "I’ve found the FML, and I’m confirming it here!"
Click that link.
Keep searching.
You can check your status by clicking on the "FML Competition" link on the right panel (just
after "My Account" ... make sure it's there before doing this work, and make sure you registered
for the competition!) (To check that you're registered, click on "FML Competition"and look for
text that says something about you participating.)
The nice thing is that the "FML Competition" page gives you a clue as to where you might need
to look for more of the 10 links. I.e., if you found one on page 100, and the "FML Competition"
page says "you found link 1 at page 100", you know you don't need to look at pages 1..99.

Ah the wonderful nice things of having opera and a many button gaming mouse. Set screen to 50% which shows all the fml's in little tiny text, then click foward on the mouse to automatically load the next page, scan for book icon, repeat.

Just to make sure, if my brother and I do this inside the same house on the same internet connection, we won't be disqualified right? Otherwise, I have to force him to not do this competition :D
I don't see how they could tell. As far as FML would see...You both have the same external IP going through the same modem/line. But I wouldn't wanna risk it for such a great prize! :D
A safer bet would be to both use separate FML accounts, which re-reading your post...sounds like you are already doing. That should be no problem :)

It took me about 15 minutes to look through 50 pages. I finished on Page 438...so about 120+ Minutes or 2 hours+
YAY! The only thing is here is what it says:
The FML number 1 has been found on page 32.
The FML number 2 has been found on page 58.
The FML number 3 has been found on page 84.
The FML number 4 has been found on page 135.
The FML number 5 has been found on page 313.
The FML number 6 has been found on page 326.
The FML number 7 has been found on page 330.
The FML number 8 has been found on page 345.
The FML number 9 has been found on page 365.
The FML number 10 has been found on page 438.
As you can see, number 5 took a LONG time to find... 135 to 313...
Numbers 6-9 were SO Easy to find!! They were like 4-20 pages away from each other! Look at 6 and 7! 326 and 330! 4 pages away from each other!! =D
