Today, it was my best friend's birthday party. Her boyfriend and I agreed to organize a dinner date to surprise her and celebrate. They celebrated, but forgot me until they arrived at the restaurant and saw the dinner reservation under my name. FML

Today, I treated my friends to lunch at a posh restaurant because it's my birthday. While we were walking leisurely around the mall afterwards, their boyfriends showed up. I spent the next few hours walking alone behind them while they were walking hand in hand with their boyfriends. FML

Today, I invited my girlfriend to go eat out, hoping to put her in a really romantic mood. She decided to tell her friend, who then invited herself and another couple along. I ended up being made fifth wheel, and had to sit alone at an adjacent table. FML

If that were me I probably wouldn't have enjoyed myself at all. That wasn't very nice of them to turn your birthday celebration into a double date and exclude you. Hate me all you want but I honestly would've left.

I would be one to tell them no, its your birthday, you dont want to be a fifth wheel on YOUR birthday. Its about YOU. If they insist on bringing them, tell them to enjoy their double date but you wont be part of it and thanks for being assholes
