Today, the new guy at work - who is probably at least ten years older than I am - admired the photo on my desk of myself with my husband and teenage daughters and asked, "Are those your grandchildren?" I'm in my 40's. FML

Today, my boyfriend told me he was showing off pictures of me to co-workers. It wasn't until later that he said, "Don't worry, they were old pictures, from when you were hot." They were from four years ago. FML

Today, I was at work refreshing the shelves when a man turned the corner and said, very surprised, "You look 12!" A few weeks back, two people did the same thing, only they said I looked 9. I'm almost 21 years old, and just very short. Starting to get just a little self conscious here. FML

Today, my 11-year-old son and I were going through some old photos. He saw one of me when I was 22 on a beach, wearing a bikini. He said "Wow! Who's that?" Quite proudly I said it was me. He looked at me and said "What happened?" FML

Today, on my first day at a new job, my boss asked how old I was. I replied, "Eighteen." She responded that she was my age thirty years ago, which makes her the same age as my mum. When I told her, she gave me a puzzled look, so I repeated myself. She was my age thirteen years ago, not thirty. FML

Today, I was in the bank with my seven year-old daughter, when I saw an old high school friend of mine with his wife. I said hello, and he commented on how beautiful my little girl was. Would people stop using "myself" to sound more business like. You are using incorrectly. Your sentence should read, "...admired the photo of ME, my husband and my teenage daughters..." Myself is a reflexive pronoun such as "I kicked the ball MYSELF."

If people can have grandchildren in/by their 30's, then on a technicality, there really isn't anything wrong with the question. For all I know, "40's" could mean anywhere up to 49 anyway, the upper register of which is much less farfetched towards having grandkids than otherwise. Then again, he is getting old, so that could have something to do with it. Don't let it go to your head, Little Miss He-Scarred-My-Ego.
