Today, on my way home from a Christmas party, the cab I was in was hit in the side. After making sure everyone was okay, the cab driver informed me that I'd still have to pay the cab fare, which he'd kept running. FML

he kept the fare running for the fifteen minutes I was standing there bent over in pain from having my ribs near broken, it cost me more than it would have to go home, I then had to pay for the hospital bill, all because he ran a red light.

I'd have called the cops... that doesn't seem legal... at all

I'd take his ass to court for my medical bills since he ran the red light. I'd also try to get my cab fare back at the same time.

YDI if you actually paid the cabbie

Lmao! idk why but this made me literally lol!

I thought cabs calculate the fee by miles and not time...

they do, they also have a waiting time so they make money in traffic

I dunno how things work in Australia, but here in the U.S. a passenger in that situation would not only refuse to pay the cab fare, but sue both the cab company and the other driver who hit the cab.
