I live in Miami and have never seen snow. Some days I feel deprived, then I hear horror stories like these about how miserable snow can be and it's all good. I'll pass!
I have snow where I live in canada, but I've never had to worry about hurricanes or anything. I'll take sone cold and snow over my house blowing away. Lol
I think you should experience snow at least once! Snow can be quit...Magical :D
Never made a snow angel? I weep for you!
I have the same situation as you, except that on the flip side, my mom wakes up at 1am to turn off the A/C and fans to save a little energy. We all wake up sweaty, hot and uncomfortable. At least you can snug up and keep warm easily in the cold. ps: I miss the snow since I came to Australia.
*couldn't edit original comment in time* - contd: You never know what you have until you lose it. What I wouldn't give to see snow, snuggle up in front of the TV on the sofa with freinds and junk food, watch movies, eat chocolate, wearing winter clothes jeans/coats/sweaters etc and going out for a walk in the crisp winter air :)
I'd turn it on and then let them blame each other. That sucks. FYL.
Do they realize their pipes can freeze and burst (not a cheap repair). The temperature in the house should be no lower than 55
Just what I came here to post. Whatever money they're saving on the heating bill (and then some) is just going to end up being used to pay the plumber.
I heard if you run the water slowly, it'll stop the pipes from busting. It's the heat the parents aren't turning on-- not water. (:
You should not call them parents , call them by first name until they turn on the heat
Get a mini portable heater for your room

It's not only a bet; it's a test of pride. Also know as a fight to the death. You are a casualty of war. Congratulations.
The cost of the hospital bill when your entire family gets pneumonia will be a lot higher than the heat bill.
