Today, my husband's sister arrived to visit. She's a super controlling attachment parent type. And we're in for a week of being controlled by her kids' schedule and her bizarre demands. She practically wants to put our flat on lockdown for her kid's nap. Go home, bitch. FML

This is your house she's staying in, she has no right to dictate your life. Tell her no, her kids can learn to live with it while she's staying with you. The only one allowed to make demands here is you and your husband. She's also setting her kids up for disaster, the rest of the world isn't going to cater to them like this or completely work around their schedules. They need to learn how to cope being on other people schedules or they will never be successful, the world does not revolve around them.

I am so sorry that she is trying to dictate your lives while she is there. If she does not like how you life, tell her she can stay at a hotel. I would not change anything in your daily life routine for her.

She sounds just like my half sister. Do what my mom and I do and just ignore her/ tell her to get over it. This is the number one reason that I don't have my sister stay at my place or go to hers for longer than a few hours. Can't stand people who believe the whole world should revolve around their kids schedule.

I hate that sort of parent, the one who thinks their kid is the centre of the universe.

If her kids have some kind of disorder then it could be reasonable. Beyond rude to not clear this ahead of time with you. That sort of bull only happens when the parents make the kids the center of their life and there's no one left to point out the parents bizarre behavior.
