Today, I was driving to work and I got a text from my girlfriend. She said she was breaking up with me. I was a little heartbroken, but I had to get on with my day. I got to work and my boss fired me. Turns out, my boss and girlfriend have been having an affair and she told him to fire me. FML

Today, I quit my job that my girlfriend and I worked together at. Fellow employees are not allowed to date one another and I said it would be ok if I was the one to leave. When I got home to her and told her that I quit, she decided to break up with me. I now have no job and no girlfriend. FML

Today, my boyfriend was fired. After breaking the news, he also broke up with me. Apparently, his boss had a creepy crush on me and would give my boyfriend bonuses for bringing me to company events and, occasionally, out on the boss's personal boat. Looks like I am no longer useful. FML

Geez, is there any way you could explain it to your boss? I hate when people jump into conclusions like that. And what the f is wrong with your girlfriend? I understand there's never a good time to break up, but during work?? Looks to me like she's scared of what your reaction would be so she did it in the one place where you're supposed to not show your emotions. Breaking up should be a private event between two people. Do it in a private place, for Pete's sake.. Now that I'm done with my rant, Stay strong OP!

I know that OP could do absolutely nothing about it in the U.S., but I thought Europe had workers' rights or something to prevent such power tripping abuse.

She's an asshole. What kind of thoughtless child dumps their partner while they're at work? I wouldn't miss her too much OP- women like that are easily replaced. Hope everything works out with your job.
