sharing a toothbrush is a great way to share diseases like colds, as well as other stuff you wouldn't get from kissing, like canker sores, not to mention all the plaque and cavity causing bacteria they just brushed off

I was just making the point that there's other things in a relationship - things that pretty much almost every couple do on a regular basis without thinking it weird, that can pass on as many diseases as sharing a toothbrush.

Sex can be sloppy and messy, brushing your teeth is uh...not really supposed to be the same thing. I'm guessing most people don't brush their teeth before work in preparation for polishing the knob unless they're going for a promotion.
