Today, my former boss is threatening to keep my last paycheck until I return a skateboard that a guest forgot at the hotel about a month ago. She was the one who gave me the order to put it in the trash. FML

Does your hotel not have a lost and found? It is not the hotels job to return abandoned property, it is the responsibility of the property owner to come back and get it or pay to have it shipped to them. Every hotel I have worked at just tosses it in the L&F, keep it for 90 days and either toss it in the trash or workers can claim it. But I live in Canada

It's seems like everyone assumes that the OP kept the skateboard. To me it sounds like the board is long gone because they threw it away.

we need a follow up post was the skateboard thrown away or does OP have it, if OP has it then they should give it back. if it's gone it's gone there's no way to give back the original skateboard since I'm sure nobody took a picture of it

If it's going in the trash it's up for grabs, but yeah, they should have a lost and found incase peope call looking for it. I've lost a lot of small things because people find it in my room and just take it. very disappointing. but if they dont come back for it for a good long while, i say go for it.
