It's okay OP, we say our greetings and goodbyes so quickly that we barely think before it's said. I'm sure most people have done something similar to what you did, so don't feel bad for too long. It's not like you meant it. Hopefully you apologized and quickly explained yourself. It would be the only right thing to do. And hope this person's grandma is doing better.

Its okay OP eveeybody ***** up wirds now and then. Im sure it was awkward but just try to forget about it and mabye buy the coworker a coffee and try to forget the whole thing. I m sure he/she will understand.
