Could this be a trip in a great place that also has the side effect of being for a work related event? So maybe your boss decided to just go with you? If not then I would start looking for a new job when I got back! Good Luck!

You do know it is illegal for him to even ask where you are going so if you told him that is your fault. It is in your rights to take your earned vacation.

Some of you might think it's a little over the top, but I personally would have told him to piss the **** off and to not show his face the whole vacation trip. talk about disrespect and micromanaging someone's personal life. Yikes!(then again, maybe the boss was just taking the same vacation at the same bloody time)
