By therapy sucks - 09/07/2016 01:04

Today, I went to the therapist and told her all the problems I've been having lately. she responded by asking if I could just be happy for once because it's really bumming her out. FML

I often times have an incredibly hard time believing stories like these. No legitimate, professional therapist would ever say this to a patient, which leads me to believe one of two things have happened here: 1) You need to look for a new therapist, because yours obviously needs to learn a thing or two about the field they're in or 2) You took something the therapist might have said, like, "try having a better outlook on things, as it will not only make you feel better but others like myself, your friends, and your family as well" as a personal attack instead of encouragement. In this instance, it's a good thing you're in therapy because that is absolutely a toxic habit to have. Whatever the case, if you're not happy with your therapist, there is always another. But a therapist isn't going to change how you feel or what you do. Only you can do that.

Yes, because you are really there for her enjoyment -_- If my therapist said anything like that I would not only be very sad, I would probably have a hard time sharing again.

Stop going to her. Stop paying her for her to be unhelpful. There are other therapists out there. Leave a bad review wherever she's listed and move on.
